Try doing a save as and make sure in the save menu that you are saving it as a workbook or worksheet. Also, make sure your columns have headings like “Name,” “Street,” “City,” “State,” “zip,” etc., cause you’ll need them to use the merge wizard in Word. (I am assuming you are doing the mail merge in Word. If not, nevermind.)
But … your source document should be a table, shouldn’t it? Are the fields named properly? Because I’m afraid that without looking at it, that’s the best help I can offer. Sorry!
I have a meeting in 20 minutes because my company is changing health insurance providers. Again. This will be the third insurance change in as many years. I just hope my primary doctors (who I’ve had for years) are covered. Not to mention the orthopedist I’m seeing next week for the probable carpal tunnel. Le sigh.
Ok, it is definitely saving it as a worksheet. But now when I go to merge it, I get the usual question - browse for file, and then it asks me:
Select Table
Under which it says Workbook: And has a list of four different workbooks. None of them enable me to click “OK” and move on.
Yup. I ain’t holding my breath, however…
Good morning, folkses.
Not much going on today, except that dratted 4-letter word.
Last night, my son came by with his best friend from when he was growing up. He’s been in Afghanistan and just got back. It was good to see him! They went out to play pool.
I have to go today and see exactly where this place the temp agency wants to send me on a job interview is. They don’t want to send me unless they’re absolutely sure I’ll be able to get there. It’s near a bus line, but it’s not an actual stop on it–you have to get off and the stop and walk a bit. None of the temp agency folks seem to know how far that would be in walking terms, so it’s up to me to find out.
Good morning. I’m posting from home because the sprog has his annual checkup today. This time, it involves shots. I don’t envy him that at all; I once locked myself in the bathroom rather than get the dreaded shots. But a little bribery goes a long way, and I think I can see my way to making a stop at Massey’s Frozen Custard afterwards. It’s only right, after all.

Oh it’s that video? Dancing Matt? That guy is my hero. I wish I could follow in his footsteps - literally. It’s right in line with my favorite quote from Nietzsche: “And we should consider every day lost upon which we have not danced.”

It’s Tuesday. I’m finally starting on my presentation that I will give on Thursday. I’ve got plenty of time.
Hey swampus, what’s your opinion on billing?
Hmm. Pun? Pun.
They put their money in a Swiss bank? Or is that not the hole story?
Tel, good luck with the investigation.
I think I love you. I wish more people thought like that. I even like the pun today.

I think he might be one of my heroes, too.
You know, my lunch would cook faster if I happened to turn the stove on. :smack:
You have no idea how many times I’ve done that.
I usually put something in the toaster and wonder why it doesn’t seem to be toasting before noticing I forgot to plug the damned thing in.
Dance party! Everybody DANCE! puts on some 80s dance music
Ahem. You know you meant to say “Everbody Wang Chung tonight.”
And Connie goes  …
rifty, I believe the cheeseheads are gouda get cash.
meeks, sorry, I’m stumped without being able to see it. What kind of document are you building? Letters? Labels? Are you using the wizard?
Seventeen lunches are ordered. Now let’s see if they don’t get screwed up. Think Imma gonna bring a frozen lunch just in case.
Did anyone miss me?
I’m a bad girl because I haven’t even read the OP yet (but I will); I just wanted to check in and say “hi”
I promise to catch up before the week is out.
You made us worry and stuff!
sorry about that - my back was majorly out of whack yesterday - I barely moved off the heating pad all day
Rosie! I missed you.
I got my spreadsheet to work. But the original won’t work no matter what. I had to cut the bit out of it I wanted, and then use the new file.
Ok, so here’s a question. If you go into a file full of folders. And change the view to “detailed”, you will see a column marked “Attributes”. What does that column mean?
