Slightly more than a 3-hour tour – a sea-going MMP

I still hate billing. I also hate life in general. I have become a curmudgeon. Compared to me, Ex is Pollyanna and Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm combined.

BAH!!! HUMBUG!!!

I’m havin’ me a beer or 12. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

The website Stuff on my Cat now has a weekly contest, with a different theme each week. I entered a picture of Cricket dressed up in a hockey jersey. I think it’s cute! Can you tell I’m really looking forward to hockey season?

Other than that, I haven’t done much. I have another dental appointment Wednesday and I’m already dreading it.

FCM - congrats on the new boat! I want a ride! I want a sailboat, too. BIL sold one of his boats, so there’s a space in the boathouse at the cabin on Lake Harding now. Maybe someday…

Twinkie, I’m one of those no-fun say no to rollercoasters types myself. I’m scared of heights and don’t think getting the pee scared out of me is fun…

Drae, now you’ve got me jonesin’ for some sweet potato fries. I’ve never tried them with syrup, but I will.

Wile E., congrats on your new kitten! I’m looking forward to pictures! hint, hint

Hope everyone has a great week!

<snerk> Thanks for that mental image.

Kathy was my abuser today. She worked me hard again, but I’m feeling pretty good. I’d feel better if it was Friday, but we can’t have everything, can we?

No, we can’t where would we put it?

[sub]Ok, I stole it from Steven Wright. I’m sorry.[/sub]

I’ve just speedread through the MMP because…I’m reduced to posting from neighborhood wireless sites (I’m at Panera right now having dinner). I came home to no internets because the (&((& neighbor’s (&&(*&(^%^ tree limb snapped off in the storm earlier today and disconnected my cable. Decided to go to dinner before bothering the neighbor to confirm the landlord’s phone number. Fortunately, it appears that the most I lost were some plants in pots. It seems to have missed the garage (it’s hard to tell; I’ll post pictures later in the week), and, fortunately my car isn’t in the garage, so it’s not keeping me from leaving the house. So it’s less tragic than it could have been, but I probably won’t be around lots and lots this week.

So has anyone ever had this type of thing happen to them? What should I worry about? Currently my big worry is that the landlord is an idiot who always goes for the cheapest way to get rid of a problem and I do’nt trust him to hire someone who won’t make a mess on my property. Also, I don’t trust him to get someone out there immediately.

Gotta go take pictures of the damage and verify what’s messed up.

Might be back later tonight. Library’s open till 9 and the coffee shop is open till 11.

Hello! It’s been an exciting day today. That’s not true, it has been mundane and pointless. And it’s Monday, so it all fits together. There was nobody at the dog park this morning, so we sat for a few and watched the squirrel run around. You can tell the trees are dog park trees, even I can smell who’s been there. I went grocery shopping, and bought habanero sauce, habanero salsa, wasabi, and pepper jack cheese with Jalapenos. Anyone have a Tucks pad I can use?

VW, welcome! You don’t have to change your name, we just use nicknames around here. We’re big on casual. When come back bring pie. and beer. And chocolate for FCM.

SCL, what position does Cricket play? Maggie is a Canes fan, but not a hat fan.

swampy. maybe you’ll feel better if you killed a kitten or two.

Mika, glad I don’t have a daughter in law. :smack: <-D’oh! My Eye!

Spats Dylexics Untie!

gt hope everthing is OK. Of course a day without Dope is like a day without beer.

Hee. I’m glad someone noticed!

I’ve been trying to work on this blouse for the Ren Faire. See, some enterprising tailor took a blouse that’s essentially meant for a size 12 or 14 and sewed it up so it would fit a size 8. All good and dandy, except he did a horrible job of it. I’m no tailor but even I am amazed at the slapdash stitching - all the stitching is tight and neat except he seems to have just stitched anything together.

I am worried about the underarms as he cut all the extra fabric away after he stitched it tight. I may have to add a little fabric to loosen them. Tight blouse underarms look awful.

Another cool video for you guys. This guy dances around the world. There are a couple of good shots of India in there.

Dancing Guy

As I mentioned earlier today, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof

Great OP, FCM! Congrats on the boat, and glad that everything turned out okay in the end…or at least that you made it to the dock okay.

Love hearing about Alaska; it’s been a long time since I’ve been able to see starry skies at night (live too close to city lights unfortunately) and I’d really love to see the northern lights some time.

As you can see, once again it’s Monday evening before I make it to the post. sighs I’ve tried to catch it first thing in the morning, but often don’t have a chance to log on before I leave for work, and can’t log on from work any more, so have to wait until I get home. Strangely, I couldn’t find the MMP this afternoon when I got home! Has that happened to anyone else?

My weekend was boring yet relaxing, and definitely not as hot as it was last week! laughs Saturday, my daughter and I went to a local natural foods co-op and got some things; we were supposed to go to a local farmer’s market on Sunday but I got really lazy and decided not to go. My daughter was disappointed - because we were going to see Pirates of the Caribbean afterwards. Maybe next weekend!

Drae, don’t hate me for that, if you need a reason, I just gave Spats more pun material! That could entail the death penalty around here. :stuck_out_tongue:

Morning y’all! I’m slightly less curmudgeonly feelin’ this morning. I think that’s mostly cause it rained some soon after my last post yesterday and cooled things down a bit. Work is driving me up a wall. I was planning on taking some long weekends this month but I can’t because I am down a couple staff. GRRRRRR. Plus, and I may have made mention of this before, I hate billing.

We’re votin’ here in Jawja today. Weird primary runoffs. I was thinking about not even bothering until I got home yesterday. There was one of those political spam messages on my answering machine from one of the goobers running for Lt. Goobernor. I do not like that! Thus, I went to vote this morning just so I could vote for the other goober. Take that Mr. Political Spam Goober! So There! :stuck_out_tongue: Plus, I got me another of them cute I’m a Georgia Voter peach stickers.

I may look it up, actually. How much does it generally run? And you can rent things there, you say?

Picu, how did I miss you were going to Vegas? How exciting! Is this your first trip? Can I come? Pretty please? I’ll be oh-so-quiet.

You have to tell us every detail!

Has anyone else noticed that WVMom got her nick by way of a typo? (VW)

I will assume the mantle of curmudgeonly-ness from swampy for the day.

Oh, heck probably for the next couple weeks actually. For all the nice, slacki-ness I get to do in June, I pay for it now, in August.

I spent all of May and June listening to people say “hey, can you do this…?” and Nodding my head at them.

Now guess what I’m doing? :frowning:

Work. yeah, work. It’s a four-letter word on purpose, I tells ya’!
**
mika**, cool video. Ok, I wasted a couple minutes. Now, head down, back to work…

They do have costume rental, though I don’t know how much that runs. As for the clothes, they’re expensive. A corset/bodice/whatever usually runs me between $75-140. Of course, you’re skinnier than me, so you’ll get the cheaper end.

Hey, where’s Rosie this week? I don’t remember her saying she was going anywhere …

I did notice, Bobbie. i think we should call her Punchbug.

Drae, i will check out the rentals. If not I will make do with my gypsy-type costume. I mean, i think it will be really pretty, just not 100% Faire clothing. But I’ve seen gypsies there in past years.

Another call for Rosie!

Bah, it’s the dressing up part that’s fun, not what you’re actually wearing. There’s gypsies everywhere. Gypsies, pirates, I’ve even seen ninjas.

Mika, that video was really cool. There’s something adorable about the concept of him travelling all around the world and doing this ridiculous dance in every place.

Today I must do many many chores. It will be exciting. I should make something chocolate for dessert- we have a friend coming over who loves chocolate. I, on the other hand, am condemning myself to an almost all vegetable diet today, to atone for eating fast food twice yesterday.

Why did Aerin think 5 am was the perfect time to announce her undying love and devotion?

Can anyone help me?

I am trying to make a mail merge document, but it keeps saying my Excel document is a table. Well, it’s nothing more than a list of names and addresses. When I look at the file itself in the folder, it has an attribute of ‘A’ which none of the other files have. I tried looking up attributes in the help file but it’s very complicated and talks about schema and stuff. Why did my Excel file suddenly start saving as a table?

meeks, cool video. Boy, that guy must have won the lotto to be able to travel to alla those places. Speaking of, did y’all see those cheese factory workers who won the big lottery?

While we’re speaking of news, can we take a minute to request blessings on the little four-year-old conjoined twins who were separated yesterday? I sure hope they make it.

VW works for me.

bobbio, that cat sure is aptly named. Isn’t he the one former owner is supposed to come and get?

Hi, scout, for no good reason other than I was thinkin bout it.

swampy, I hates billing, too! Grrrrrrr!

Well, I gotta go order seventeen different chinese lunches for a staff meeting tomorrow. My own fault. I suggested chinese.
