Karma karma chameleon,
you come and go, you come and go
lovin’ would be easy if your love were like my dreams,
red gold and green, red gold and green!
Every day…is like survival! You’re my lover, not my rival!
I love that song!
As for the costume, well, that’s what I was looking at. I have a flowing skirt which nearly reaches the ground, and a choli - an Indian-style blouse. I was thinking with the veil used as the right kind of headscarf, some big gypsy earrings, and a sash, I could make do. What do you think? I definitely don’t want to come in mundanes.
You wear whatever you’re comfy in. I should admit that my costume is bought, because I don’t think anything short of divine intervention could help me properly make a bodice.
Ooh, sounds pretty. I’ll probably do what I did last time: rent something from the place they have there. Unless Drae wants to help me find something I can buy before we go?
We saw Arthur last night. When you get caught between the moon and New York City There’s you an earworm right there!
My Monday started yestiddy. I got wackos on the phone telling me about things that happened years ago, but couldn’t have, but yes they did…arrrg! I just have to quit answering the stoopit thing. See ya later, gotta go to the laundrymap. (That’s what my youngest calls it)
I usually buy my stuff there, so I got nothing. But if you go to the faire’s website (which I’m too lazy to look up right now), they usually have links to the vendors that have websites, and you can do a little monitor-shopping.
This put me in mind of the episode of South Park when Kyle kept getting Cartman to sing by starting out: “I’m sailing away…”
For those who were worried, my baby is home. She got back to her apartment in Orlando this morning, and when she called me, I heard her cat yelling at her in the background. She was also doing a pantry inventory, mentioning honey wine, ramen, and ketchup. Methinks she’ll be grocery shopping soon.
I’m achy, but doing pretty good, all things considered. My shoulder is fine, and my achy back (no idea how I did that, just like all the bruises on my arms) loosened up when I did my treadmill walk. By tomorrow, I should be as normal as is possible for me.
A guy from my work is coming over this afternoon to look at FCD’s motorcycle. He decided to sell it, and I’m glad. After 2 spinal surgeries, I felt like riding was just tempting fate. We shall see if it sells.
And that’s my update for now. I need to change for therapy - gotta don some comfy shorts and a baggy shirt. Wonder whose turn it is it torture me today?
Haha! Someone on another board I post on has this as her tagline (like a sig, but right under the userid, and kept short and unobtrusive so half the time, you don’t even notice them).
FCM, I loved your OP. It reminded me of sailing on the Bay with my parents, many moons ago. They used to keep their boat in Galesville, MD, and we’d go over on weekends. Much fun, as long as Dad didn’t turn into Captain Bligh when someone got dirt on the deck.
Good Morn… I mean, afternoon. Sorry, I just woke up. I didn’t get to sleep until 2:30, than the alarm went nuts at 4:30. I got up and fixed Hubby a nice breakfast of Grapenuts™ with a sliced banana and a cup of sweet tea. He ate it in bed, then got up to shower and get ready for work. Then he kissed me goodby, saying to go back to sleep, which I promply did. Next thing I know, he’s shouting at me to wake up! He couldn’t find his work badge, and wanted to know what I’d done with it. :dubious: (He’s left it in the truck.) Then he went off to work and I went back to sleep. sigh. I’m well rested now.
FCM, nice MMP. I’d take you up on your invitation, if you didn’t live at the opposite end of the country. Hubby wants a boat, but he wants the really fast kind. So far, I’ve been the voice of reason. We have a hole in the pavement, we don’t need a hole in the water to pour money into, as well.
Yesterday, we spent several hours watching the hydro races, and the Blue Angels and some little airplanes doing scary stuff. It was good.
Saturday was a down day. Hubby worked. I wandered from room to room pretending to clean. It almost looks like I actually did.
I usually have trouble sleeping when he works, so he calls late at night when it’s his turn to be up. Saturday was an exception. I fell asleep hard around 11:30 pm. He called at 3:30 am and scared me right out of bed.
A week from to day we leave for Las Vegas! I’m getting excited. Hubby wants to bring his tux. Why, you ask? I haven’t a clue, it just can’t be good. I can just hear him “Bond, James Bond.” Then we get escorted out.
Have a good week everyone.
Buckwheat (from The Little Rascals) decided to become Muslim. He changed his name to Kahreema Wheat. (Say it out loud.) We don’t have enough rolleyes in the world…
I wuz listening to Bhangra music on the way home, and I think the lyrics are wonderfully evocative. Pardon my poor translation. You should also know in India it’s considered proper to cover your face with a veil in front of your father-in-law.
She says:
*
Kori kori Kundi wich mirchan mein ragdra
Sore di aakh wich padeniya
Kund kadan di alak mukha dendiya*
In the early morning l sit and grind spices
I quietly put them in my father-in-law’s eyes
Thus not having to wear my veil
