Smallville 05/17/2007 (Spoilers)

I don’t know what to say. I’ve been drinking reserve port since you did it, damn you…!
Og-Damn You!!! You killed off Chloe!!! I know she wasn’t in any comic book, but Og-Fricken-Damn-You she was the only female character worth a Damn on that whole Og-Damn series!!!

in mourning
Well, maybe not. You never know, on that show. I also don’t think that Lana really got blowed up.

So, they’re finally giving us their version of Bizarro Superman.

I think lana staged the car bomb incident.

I agree. It was a total buzz kill from my celebration of Lana getting blown up. Knowing this show, it’s just a fake out, but it does give us the possibility of having a few episodes without that biotch. I’m going to miss Chloe. I liked her from the beginning but I thought she just kept getting better and more interesting as the show progressed. At least we can take comfort that some part of her lives on in Lois.

Poor Lex. I really feel bad for him. He really took a beating this season. I really hope he beats the rap for Lana blowing up. Even as a kid I always liked Lex better than Superman (I was a strange kid :))

Last season I was starting to believe that the show had jumped the shark. But this season and this episode in particular is giving me hope for the future of the show.

I haven’t been following the show very closely. What is the explanation for Chloe’s magic teardrop?

If that was Chloe’s meteor power that was a pretty sucky meteor power. Use it once and then you’re dead.

Do we really need to spoiler speculation and comments on what has aired?
Not enough Martian Manhunter.

Can we get a spoiler tag on the thread and dispense with the spoiler boxes, I want to know what I’ve missed.

This episode sucked.

That was my question. I hadn’t watched the show since the second episode (I even missed Zod!), and had no idea what that was all about.

Care to elaborate? Did you just not like it in general or were there specific things you didn’t like about it?

Not going to spoiler this because we found out quite a few episodes ago, so if you are waiting for the reruns, don’t read this post…

Chloe found out this season that her Mother and she are meteor infected. Her Mother had the power to control other infected as long as she had a possession of theirs. Chloe had no idea what her power was or even if she had one. I guess we figured out what it was this week.

This episode was horrible. I’m just watching out of pure stubbornness now, since I’ve hung on this long.

No way are either of the two people who “died” actually dead.

Lana totally faked that bomb and got into the mail truck that just so happened to be passing by at the last second. As we all know, had Perfect Princess Lana actually died, a host of pink-clad angels would have descended from heaven and carried her away, while sprinkling pxie dust everywhere.

True, this episode was bad…and there have been some stinkers messing with the plot up to this point. But Allison Mack’s “hopeful eyes” always dragged me back, usually complaining to the TV “Clark, you idiot…ditch Lana & go for the Gold!!”

I don’t think Chloe is gone for good. Not yet anyway. That can’t happen until the final season I think. When is the final season going to be? I hope they find out in time to wrap everything up and turn KC into Superman.

I liked the episode. I don’t know if I will like their version of Bizarro though. But them introducing him gives me hope that the show will be on for a nother season or two and that I do like.

I totally agree Lana is not dead. Lionel and her schemed up the incident to make Lex think she is dead. Lionel told Clark the marriage was a scam to get close to Lex so I guess with them tricking evreybody into thinking she is dead then they got the info they needed. She will just go into hiding for awhile.

Cloe is not dead either. The writers can not be that stupid to kill her off so suddenly and in that way.

I too vote for more Martian Manhunter.

And I must have missed something. When have the MM and Lionel met before? How did MM know Lionel was working with/for Jor-El?

I fear Chloe is really truly dead this time. They already did the Chloe is dead/Gotcha! she’s still alive bit already.

I don’t know that they would pull that again with the same character.

Yes, Chloe is dead. She’s not a comic character so they can do with her as they please (which I’d also like to do, but I digress…). She was wonderful and talented and hot and a thousand times more attractive to me than Durance, but them’s the apples. Now Lane will go all reporter-y to “avenge” Chloe. Sigh. Let Chloe slip off to help the League and Ollie!

I was kinda hoping the Bizarro would be a diffirent actor than Welling. I’ve seen him evil and it’s not that scary.

No, Lana’s not dead. Nobody else will die except Papa Luthor, probably by Lex’s hands I’m guessing. If Lex or his project had killed Chloe, that I would have accepted as a way to finally break the Lex/Clark relationship, but noooo…stupid meteor sacrifice. Why does she get the only once-and-done power that kills her?

Those grumbles aside, I liked it (but not as much as Supernatural). Boxed to keep some happy.

We have seen Martian Manhunter before, but was there a previous time where Clark was introduced to him?
Cause maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see MM being introduced very well. Papa Luthor kinda said some stuff about MM, but actual name given or anything.
Brian

I’m getting my “Told you so” dance ready.

If Chloe is dead, then the series is dead to me. Millar-Gough can smash their cheap bottle of ink on somebody elses TV…
