Smokin' in the MMP

You can always eat the puppy tomorrow night.

Well that was worth a laugh out loud. :D. Could smoke him even.

All this talk of smokers --------- I am going to fire mine over my First Saturday of the Weekend (Friday to you peasants) and do some assorted critters. Now to rummage the freezer and see which ones.

Because you could have an arm ripped off, and if you could manage to light a cigarette, things would be okay for a bit.

This is why two are good.
Echo is a little shit, but she is less of a little shit than Ripple was at her age. She chews on him instead of me, and she has yet to have a case of the zoomies. The vet noticed lots of little scabs on Ripple’s legs, they are from the puppy chewing on him with those little needles in her mouth. He has a mess of them behind his ears too. He tolerates it, doesn’t seem to bother him at all.

She is a lot harder to house train though. Ripple has had 4 accidents total. She on the other hand…
Most of the time she will go to the door and whine, but sometimes she sneaks out to the kitchen and goes on the rug. I told her tonight, pee in the house one more time and I will kick your little ass all the way back to Oregon.

I took a long nap, but it didn’t help much. I’m still tired and grumpy.

Flytrap. You are weird.

You’re just figuring that out??

Soccer has been practiced and tomorrow the 10U boys are having a scrimmage game. This Saturday is our last ‘regular season’ game, but the tournament starts on the 26th and if we do well, we could be playing until Mid-November.

swampy, glad your friend got a good sendoff, and OYKW apparently is set for a couple of days…

Sari, the look on my face when I get my prostate exam each year is…well, maybe not priceless, but memorable…

Nettie, sorry about Ava. But 17+ years is a good life.

Recyclables go out tomorrow for the monthly pickup and another Braunsweiger run along with the above-mention soccer are the major items on the schedule tomorrow.

**MetalMouse ** the Southwest Chief was only 6 minutes late tonight. The other night it was over an hour late. And tonight there were well over 1400 viewers.

In the minor problems division of my day, how did waffle batter prepared according to mix directions totally weld itself to a nonstick waffle iron to the point that extraction required letting the plates cool down enough for careful prying them apart, following by a long soak and much scrubbing?

Read much, retained little.

Sis and I had a good time. We went to the Country Hall of Fame Museum, took the Redneck Comedy Bus Tour, found a new-to-me Ethiopian place that was a little six table hole in the wall, but had most excellent food (limited menu, but their veggies on the injera platter rocked my world). She headed up to Dad’s this morning when I left for irk. Now all’s quiet at CasaRoja. Nelson’s father Frankie had a belly bug while he was here. Sis had stopped for a burger and got him a small patty. She had a bit of an upset tummy when she arrived, but he had diarrhea and horked once, resulting in three loads of laundry while they were here and one this evening after they had left. Poor baby. I gusss a bad burger has a bigger impact on a six pound chihuahua than a fully grown woman.

I fixed some broccoli salad for the potluck tomorrow. Now it’s chilling out.

I’m sorry for your loss, nettie. No matter how long pets live, it’s never long enough.

My sister’s flight was delayed, so she’s not getting in until tomorrow. I’m about to make cornbread for her lunch. This is a true act of love because she prefers fluffy, sweet cornbread, while I like moist, slightly dense (or whatever the opposite of fluffy is), savory cornbread. I have a great recipe for the latter that I got from Bon Appetit decades ago and have been using ever since.

However, she’s a wonderful sister, and I love her dearly, so sweet and fluffy it is.

Well, that sux & is a good reason to not get one.

Not enough meat on the little ones.

Does you look like this?
Had happy hour with great-grandboss. All the newish hires were invited since he’s only here a few days a month so he can get to know everyone; twas nice to that.

Morning from the Fabulous Florida Keys! Awake but not up. Thinking about having to go to irk. Don’t wanna. It is already Thursday though.

Happy a great day everyone!

Someone woke me at 2 in the AM. I’ve been up since 2 in the AM. It’s gonna be a long-ass day.

But it’s my Firday, so there’s that.

Happy Thursday!!

My grandboss who greeted me and introduced me to Stuff on Monday was just on his way back from a trip. I’d been wondering where he was for the last two days. Turns out his flat had been trying to float away, or at least the bathroom and bedroom were  I hope his stuff didn’t take a lot of damage (furnished flat, so that’s not his).

Seeing a flat tomorrow meself. I’ve got to buy a bus pass thingee, because it’s a lot cheaper than return tickets.

The lady at the canteen is one of those whose cousins in the US call everybody “hon”; yesterday it was she who served me and I got more endearments in five minutes than I’d have from my family in a year. Everybody in this job has been super efficient so far, it’s almost scary.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN I was a slug abed until seven forty-five! ‘Tis 52 Amurrkin out and N.O.S. with a predicted high of 71 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. A true Autumn day for these parts. Today’s agenda includes the layin’ in of provisions and makeage of sup which, I think, shall be shrimpies ‘n grits. I shall need to look at the shrimpies whilst in the Pubic Sto’ first, but I’m sure they’ll be fine as they always are. I intend on sloth and Netflix bingin’ otherwise.

Now, now. Wouldn’t want to be seen as high falutin’ and puttin’ on airs, now would I?

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, bother, alas, and alack, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Then again, you don’t want to be featured on People of Walmart, either. :dubious:

Morning all. Garbage and recyclables are out at the curb and I’ll be heading out shsortly for some shopping. May also need to gas up car on the way. 47F heading for the mid-60’s.

Butters, I was around last night too. Amtrack can be tracked here: Amtrak but freight trains show up when they get there (much like friends and relations…).

swampy, made it 8am today (albeit I had my usual 5am micturition). Retirement can be a good thing…

Nava, water pipe leak or flooding? Sounds like you are now working with competent people…don’t let the shock get to you…

Red, just a little toooooo much information there…

All y’all take care this Thorsday.

Happy Thorsday!

Very windy outside, blew my clothesline over and also shifted the big piles of branches that need to go to the dump. It is N.O.S. though, with a high of 55 predicted for the day.
If it hadn’t been for the wind, it would have been really nice at the park.

I took Echo with us today, even though she is still a bit young by park rules. However, she has her shots now, so she should be good. I also took her on the big dog side, but I know everybody who comes in the morning, so I wasn’t too worried about that either. Other than Ripple and Bella the boxer tag teaming her, she was fine. I pulled Ripple off so she could play with Bella for a while. She had a great time, slept the whole way home, ate a little, and is passed out on their bed.
Two dogs got into a fight there today. One got bloody nose, but he was the one who started it, a little shih tzu who is pretty grumpy. He went after Ripple today, but Ripple will always walk away. Sometimes he will go back and tease the grumpy ones, but mostly he just gives them the what an asshole look and finds something else to do.

Irk and laundry (maybe) on the agenda for today. Would be a good day to hang out sheets. Since I have cleared out so much of the neighbor’s jungle, I can use her clothesline, which doesn’t blow over in the wind. I need to turn my mattress too. My son will have to help me with that. Also, today is pay bills day.

The dogs are watching me eat my delayed breakfast. Pixel ('Beamer’s dog) is putting on quite the show. Apparently he will die if I don’t give him my food. :stuck_out_tongue:
