Sneezing All Over The MMP

Woke early and wasted some time playing games on my tablet before getting up. SIL has an interview this morning (apparently Aldi does early Sunday morning interviews) but the rest of the house is asleep. Critters have been tended to, and I’m breakfasting, caffeinating, and surfing.

**FCD **and I have a task to do in the building, then I’m going to try to persuade him to go to the Marine Museum because we haven’t been there in ages. OK, I took Roxy there a few weeks ago, but her areas of interest are very limited. We’ll see how it goes.

Complete change of topic - do you recall some weeks back when our ice maker died and I bought a counter top ice maker? Well, I’m loving it! In the course of an evening, it makes enough ice to fill the bin, plus some. It makes cubes instead of crescents, which I prefer. And it cost probably less than a service call to replace the other one would have cost. So if you’re interested in a counter top ice maker, just ask me!

Happy Sunday!!

I will not be going to my own church this morning but visiting another. The grandson of my first cousin is getting confirmed, this will be a big family get together. I imagine we will take up at least two pews. We will have a reception for the young man afterwards.

This evening I will finish doing my taxes, at least the federal ones, with the state to follow tomorrow, and into the mailbox. I am old fashioned, doing mine on paper and mailing them in, at the last minute naturally.

It’s Palm Sunday. It’s snowing. I am not amused. I enrolled in a meal delivery service for weeknights (BistroMD). Fud was delivered Thursday and I start tomorrow. Most nights I get home between 6:30 and 7 and am ready to chew my arm. Instead of stopping for a burger and fries, I can have a real dinner. My niece has been using this service for a few weeks and says it’s good.

Up and caffeinating. I’ll leave to heathenate after purtifying.

Happy Sunday!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. One of my favorite bars is having a 10th Anniversary celebration ,so there will be free food. Gotta buy my own beer, though.:dubious:

Yes.

You shoud hear the racket when Gordie and “Melvin”* the wiener dog next door see each other.

The FSM did you vasectomy? He touched your noodly appendage with his noodly appendage?:p:dubious::wink:

*real name is Buddy, but we call him Melvin, because he is small and annoying.

Happy Sunday!

Looks like it’s gonna rain all day, thunder boomers even, so perhaps no doggie park today.
Yesterday’s visit was ‘interesting’.

I don’t know if it is because the park is basically cut in half and all the owners are concentrated in one area, but there have been a lot of dog fights lately.

FCM - FB sucks, I barely go there anymore. I miss catching up on family/friend news, but I get more weird stuff that I am not interested in. FB is pissing me off in a number of ways, the only reason I still have an account is to see if anything important is going on.

Hope your mom is feeling better soon Sunny, and that the house sale goes well.

I saw the guy at the park yesterday that the woman had taken my seat to talk to. I asked him if he had noticed her and that she seemed interested in him. He hadn’t noticed. I figured he wouldn’t have, she was not that attractive. He did admit to noticing the really pretty girl that was there yesterday. However, as I suspected, he is in a relationship and isn’t interested in meeting women. I figure he talks to me because I am old and safe.

I have lots to do again today. It seems like the more I do, the more that needs to be done.
Yesterday when I was going over my taxes, again, I did something that wiped out all the information and I had to start over. I don’t know what changed, but now I owe $100 less. Maybe I should do it again.

Also, just an FYI, when pouring drain cleaner into the toilet (it’s made for toilets), wear goggles.
The basement sink is backing up again, the drain cleaner isn’t irking as well, so I am calling the plumber tomorrow.
Everything was going okay for a while, I should have known it wouldn’t last.

Mornin’ all. Been an atypical morning.

Awakened at 2:30am by some ‘thump’ noise I couldn’t figure out, so I got up to explore the house (exactly what a fat, nekkid, 65 year old man was supposed to do, I haven’t a clue), but there was nothing, so I went back to bed just in time for the thunderstorms. Finally gave up and got up about 6:30am and headed to Krispy Kreme. As I got near the railroad crossing I saw a train had stopped; not that unusual, but having two cop cars with their lights on directing us to detour was. Coming back (took a route with a bridge over the tracks) the train was still there, making me wonder if there had been a derailment and maybe that is what I heard last night. Only other clue is a big puddle of water outside under my bedroom window, which may be a clogged gutter (to lazy to check right now), but there are no trees anywhere close to the gutter in question.

So maybe Scribe can use that for her new mystery…

Sari, yeah, dogs can be territorial, so if the area is that much smaller…hope Ripple is avoiding trouble.

Cupcakes, good wishes for the confirmin’; it didn’t take with me, but it’s a good time for family.

doggio, wiener dogs have always barked well above their weight; I’ve seen them scare off repairmen who couldn’t see them through the door.

wetone, let us know how the meal service works out.

Moooooommm, is that Marine Museum as in ‘wet places’ or as in ‘semper fi’? Either way it sounds interesting.

OK, back to eating donuts (I could tell you how many, but you might be envious/appalled).

Well, Rat, you can always be reassimilated, heh, heh. It took with me, but I did switch denominations, being Episcopal now, and confirmed Lutheran. At the church where I was confirmed they have a set of notebooks that have pictures of all the classes, as far back as they can go. So I can go to see my 1969 self, shudder. For 1928 I can see my maternal grandmother, she was baptized and confirmed as an adult and I love seeing a good photo of her at the age of 24. I still miss her so much. This young man being confirmed today is her great-great-grandson.

YAWN I wonder if the coffee will be done by seven?
ETA: 7:01, and the pot just stopped.

.

One cup down…

It already worked to send 20 bucks to the Chicago Reader :stuck_out_tongue:

Now the snow has become a bucking flizzard.

Calvert Marine Museum. We’re members now, again. We belonged back when we lived in VA and kept our boat in Solomons, and I just rejoined so I can take Roxy there.

**FCD **and I just finished putting flashing around the base of the walls in the shop. There were a few gaps where light shone thru, and he didn’t want to risk rain and bugs getting in, so it’s now all sealed. He’s going to shoot Great Stuff in a few spots where mice might get in. Some time this week (we hope) the Amish crew will come back and finish the inside - insulation and walls and ceiling - so it’s all ready for them now.

SIL was back from his interview in less than an hour. He hasn’t said anything to me, but I suspect he was late and they wouldn’t let him in. No big surprise there… :dubious:

Well, chorage is done - I think it’s time for more West Wing and crocheting.

Howdy Y’all! Home from deheathenization and food from Waffle House. 'Tis rainy out and I hear thunder in the distance. We are under a tornado watch. We be glad our behinds be inside and be dry.

Scare off burglars
I ran this moaning, but that’s the only worthwhile thing I’ve accomplished so far. :frowning:

Blurfage. Tired. I need to give Louie a bath and I have a tiny turkey i’m gonna cook up later. I am having a very slow start to the day.

Blurf

Yeah, I’ll worry about that after I finish watching the last 4 episodes of backstabbery with swords. Wifey will be back from her trip sometime this afternoon/evening so I don’t know that I’ll get through it all.

Please be careful with that stuff! Most drain cleaners contain lye and if it gets in your eyes it can cause serious, permanent damage!

We loved West Wing, until the last season when Sorkin quit writing it and it went to Hell.

Time to get semi productive.

still doing obnoxious decorating but its almost over …… its cute and all but almost everyone was over it when they were 17…but my aunt fights against the “war on holidays”………
other than that not gonna do much today…

Bumba - fortunately this drain cleaner is enzyme based, no lye or I would be in trouble. Still burned, but all I had to do was flush my eye with cool water.

Spent a few hours watching The Masters (only golf tournament I make an effort to watch) and while I won’t give away the winner, let’s just say sports talk shows will have something to talk about tomorrow…

Should be cleaning the house, but feel more like nappage. We shall see which wins.
