WEOOOOOOO! PAYPAL HAS CHANGED THEIR SIGNON PROCEDURES! I’M A MEMBER NOW! The old procedure was incompatible with my bank’s own procedures. The new one took a few seconds to set up.
I feel all responsible and grown-up

First load of laundry is washing. Dishwasher has been loaded. Critter fountain is clean. Two more loads of laundry, and I’ll be out of chores!
Up, breakfasted, towels and sheets in the wash, puppy crate cleaned and caffeinating. I need to take a shower in a bit to be presentable for my 11 am hair appointment. I was going to buy and set plants this weekend, but it’s raining, so I’ll wait until next.
I’m… up. It’s 6:53, and I’ve been out of bed for ten minutes. The coffee is just finishing. Thank God.
Afternoon all.
Irk was somewhat busy and irksome today; it’s skool holidays, so tourist season. A 2.5 hour drive is somewhat less appealing right now than I was expecting, but oh well. At least I don’t have to be social when I get there, the friend whose house I’m staying at is actually away til tomorrow, I’m just letting myself in and feeding the kitty.
Glad I won’t be driving the old car down there, it was tall and light and really caught the wind, and it’s blowing a gale out there right now…
Test out your new account by sending me $100.00 or so!
(I will be happy to help out any other MMPers with this service.)
Bonus bacon!
Mrs. L.A. and I each have two slices of bacon on Saturday mornings. I buy five-pound packages of bacon from Cash & Carry. Since that’s a moderately large amount of bacon, I make packets that I store in the freezer until we need it. I lay out a piece of plastic wrap and put four rashers on it, fold it over, add for more, fold it over, and then four more before I close it up for storage. (This morning I parcelled it out and came up with 7⅔ packets.) The last packet from the last bunch of bacon I bought had five rashers in it. So I get a piece of bonus bacon this morning.
Yes. Yes, It does.
Especially the phone app.
That’s why we have a Kuerig machine. It doesn’t make great coffee, but its fast.
I am irked at myself. See, every year I tell myself I’m done with Game of Thrones and I ignore all the hype. And then, every year, I break down and buy the last season’s DVD set and binge watch the entire season. :o Well, yesterday I wanted to get something from Home Depot, so I stopped at Target, which is on the way, and ran in and grabbed a copy of season seven. Popped disc 1 into my DVD player last night and it wouldn’t play.
A careful examination of the package revealed that I had purchased a Blu-ray set.:smack::mad: There was one little logo on the edge of the box. :smack:
Knowing Target, they prolly won’t take it back 'cause I opened it.
There’s a reason I never shop there anymore.
Gibbs is going crazy. They’re having the Camillia Festival at the Cultural Center, which is across the street in the next block. (We like that 'cause we can just walk over there for events.) Well, besides all the people coming and going, they have a ‘fun run’ as part of their activities. I think it’s a 5K. It begins and ends by going in front of our house. Gibbs is outraged by all those people having the nerve to go by on his street, and tells them so!
At least they’ve been persuaded that the announcer doesn’t have to be heard from 10 blocks away and turned the PA system down some. I can still hear him but he didn’t wake me up this year.
And also it apparently has been explained to the fire department that they can’t close and block off all the streets for 4 blocks around, including ours, for the entire morning.
For the start of the race, sure. And if there’s large clumps of runners coming back. But if there’s just one or two people running down the sidewalk, local residents should be able to go about their lawful occasions with appropriate care.
And you kids get off my lawn!
I hear ya Bumba. These things should start at a reasonable hour - like noon!
Johnny I made a whole pound of bacon this morning, to split between 6 of us. One person left early, so we all got an extra piece. Yummm.
Akiko-pup won’t come out of the yard for breakfast. She’s climbed the hill and is surveying her domain by George, and she’ll come down when she’s ready! So there. I don’t think she’s paid enough time to me shaking the food.
We’ve signed the contract on the house, and we’re officially not going to be homeowners (of that house) by early May. Woot! Now we live with my folks for a while until the new house is ready in August. It’s not so bad. My mom and I are sharing cooking duties. It’s been fun.
Today shall probably consist of napping and a movie.
Stay safe everyone who’s got stormy weather pointed their way. This one sounds like a bad one.
Good luck with your house sale, Sunny. My BIL and his wife are trying to sell their place in FL so they can move to TX. They thought it was sold, but the deal fell thru, so back to square one. Unfortunately, they’re not in a popular part of FL.
I’ve been crocheting and binging on The West Wing. Laundry is done. It’s been on and off rainy. Pretty much a lazy day…
Today’s fun consisted of unscheduled laundry. It became a necessity because the dialysis nurse was having a bad day, and, well, the shirt and the blanket needed a wash.
Now if only the insulin would take less than six hours to do anything. Even I think 470 is a tad high.
You show great restraint, Sir.
Well, as expected, Target refused to accept the blu-ray discs back 'cause I opened them.
Wandered on over to Walmart, (they’re next door, kinda) and bought the DVD version for $5 cheaper. I’ll binge watch some tonight.
Right now gonna walk over to the Camellia Festival and see if the BBQ guy is there.
Chow.
I’ve been reading up on the Maryland 529 college tuition plans. For Roxy’s birthday, we’re going to enroll her. It sure is different from when we signed up daughter for Florida Prepaid. We enrolled her at age 2 or 3 and it cost $35/month up until her first month in college, and her 4 years of tuition were covered.
A similar program for Roxy would run $396/month.
Instead, we’ll start her in the 2-year community college plan at $89/month and eventually add the 2 years of university. One nice thing about it the plans - we can set up a link where family can contribute if they wish. I’m hoping at least a few would be willing to toss some cash into her college fund instead of buying her stuff she really doesn’t need. I think my mom will. So we shall see.
Meanwhile, if FCD’s business does well enough, we may be able to pay off the plan in full. We’ll just have to see what the future brings. Here’s hoping she’s as smart as her mom so she gets a full ride scholarship when the time comes - then the fund can be used for books and such.
Criminy, she’s just about to turn 1 and we’re already planning for college…
Being a grandparent is a hard job–you don’t expect the SiL to do it do you?
bumba, Nelson gets all territorial when other people/dogs have the nerve to use the sidewalk in front of my apartment. They’re little guard dogs, they are.
 You’re waaaaaaaayyyyyy too sweet alien. I hope your sugar comes down soon.
Moooooom, in the last few years, I’ve taken to buying a small gift (<$10) and either buying a savings bond or contributing to a 529 plan for kids’ birthdays. It may not be much, but at maturity, it will at least give them pizza money.
I got my hair cut, bought a new purse and a few small things during some recreational shopping, came home, got the vegan dish together for the potluck tomorrow, made the bed and made a pot of Manhattan clam chowder that is so good that I’m working on my second bowl. Time to kick back and stream something while I work in the studio.
Thank the flying spaghetti monster for my vasectomy.
I’m still here.
Up at 6am to head over to the soccer fields at 7am, coached two games in the rain and one with the constant threat of rain, lost all three games to boot, so got home about 2:30 and collapsed. Just fixed myself some grilled ham and cheese on rye which has improved my mood and even better, tomorrow is a Krispy Kreme day, so I’ll head over there early to get some fresh, hot donuts.
Also spent two hours working on a Sudoku, part of a three-sided game (one square is shared by all three sides, but in different positions). The other two sides I solved, but I have come to the conclusion that they messed up on this one and put some of the ‘clues’ in the wrong places. (At least that’s my story and I’m sticking with it).
FCM, given what college costs now instead of ‘our time’, it is never too early. And what it will cost in 20 years…
Bumba, maybe you can sell the Blu-Rays to somebody? Recoup at least a little of the cost.
Alien, y’all take care of yourself.
Sunny, hope all the house dealing works out for you and Konga gets to feelin’ better. And the storm looks to be mostly west of me (so far), looking at the national map it’s heading up the Mississippi River.
LA John, I restrict my bacon intake to once a week; but I eat a lot of it in that one time…
Nava, welcome to Paypal. It has worked well for me when I needed it to.
shady, yes, I have seen under the refrigerator; it’s not a pretty picture, is it?
Nut, hope the drive went well.
Tomorrow is my day of sloth (and donuts). All y’all take care.
well fridge is fixed just a plugged drain line but still doing xmas 2 erm i mean Easter……decorations…
repair guy wouldn’t of minded taking our newer cat with him and i would of thought about it (not really) nut but nope her mommy says she stays…
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy (actually all the way dark) with a predicted high of 77 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. Looks like all that is on the way. I think we shall deheathenate Luterun style this mornin’ just cause we’re both up and awake. ‘Tis Palm Sunday so palm wavin’ and hosannas shall be done at both services. The idea of Waffle House has been mentioned so maybe early deheathenization followed by WH would be good.
I read all but retained little so yays, boos, hugs, noogies, trouts, chitlins, smooches, and how *you[/I[ doin’s all around as needed.
Now I need more caffeine and need to put sump’n in rumbly tummy so’s meds can be ingested. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.
Happy Sunday Y’all!
