I think this might be the crux of the matre*, the repetitiveness of it. I think if SnowBo mixed it up a bit like Ludovic suggest people might not get annoyed.

I have some suggestions:

Let’s go down to the ocean and dips our toes in.

Let’s go down to the bank and snort some crank.

Let’s go down the heartland and murder some Phil Hartmans.

Let’s all get rabies and scabies and eat ourselves some babies.

That’s latin for “matter”.*

I’ve always been confused by this. I’ve never seen the Office episode, but apparently, Creed mentions to Jim he lives near a quarry and he should come over to throw stuff in there. I don’t get why this is funny… maybe context?

I would assume that you’d use this line when someone says something pointless or has a stupid argument. That’s usually when Bo uses it, right?

It’s his “funny” replacement for an equally annoying habit many people have: Letting everyone know they’re laughing out loud.

I generally enjoy Bo’s posts, but yeah that quarry thing is just jarring, and takes me right out of whatever he’s trying to say. Thank goodness he tosses it in very infrequently.

I had no idea it was a TV show reference. With this knowledge this usage, which used to make me scratch my head, now makes sense. Bo is basically using it as a replacement for LOL. Still annoying but meh, nothing to become enraged about, in my view.

Now Regards Shodan on the other hand makes me all stabby. Well, maybe not stabby, but definitely stab-ish.

Every time this comes up I find myself baffled that so many people find this worth anything more than a roll of the eyes or a murmured, “There goes that silly Snowboarder Bo again.” It may be dumb but are there really this many people on the board who have so much time on their hands they can get worked up about this?

I know of a guy that got ahold of his boss’s Blackberry and made it autocorrect “lol” to “Let’s go to the quarry and throw shit down there.” So he’d get texts like “Can you come here? I want to show you this Let’s go to the quarry and throw shit down there.” and eventually, my favorite:

“Let’s go to the quarry and throw shit down there. Something’s wrong with my phone Let’s go to the quarry and throw shit down there.Let’s go to the quarry and throw shit down there.”

Although I quickly stopped using “shit” in favor of “stuff”, I’ve set all my devices to autocorrect that 3 letter abbreviation.

Yes, it still makes me chuckle every time my various devices do the autocorrect.

Wait, really? One of the other times we complained about this, a number of posters chalked it up to his being a student. The poster thought high school, others said maybe college.

But come to think of it, I’m pretty sure they were assuming, because of the “do a meme to death” thing.

Like if I told you I had a friend who always kicks open our door and yells “Who let the dogs out? Woooof, woof! Woof, woof!” you might picture a wannabe kid with too many chains and his cap on backwards. Not a CEO in a 3-pc suit.
