I wandered in- abandoned, dirty and (lets face it) not a pretty cat. The vet says it is about 7 years old, not microchipped and is a neutered male.
Fortunately it will now get a comfortable home. He is a sweet cat.
His name is Keyser Soze.

Linkee no work.
He may well tidy up when the rough grow out of his coat
Sorry- does this now work?Keyser
Yes, it works now. He’s cute! Congratulations.
He is pretty! How can a fluffy grey kitty not be pretty? Congrats!
Awww. He is pretty! My cat Snickers loves to lie on her back, too. She’s hoping for belly rubs.
He’s beautiful! How could you say he’s not pretty?
Fluffy kitty! Keyser Soze is not the name I would’ve imagined for him (he looks like maybe more of an Alfred Hitchcock), but maybe that’s part of his con.
How sweet! He must love and trust you already, since cats usually don’t like to bare their tummies unless they’re very secure and feel safe. Congratulations on your new baby!
Well, he looks a little Spacey.
Excellent!
Ha ha ha. He looks pretty brutal and uncompromising (hence the name) but he is really a sweeti with a little meow.
Congratulations on your new furball. He does look like he wants a tummy rub.
My found-by-the-side-of-the-road cat was pretty ugly for months and months, but he surprisingly filled out quite handsomely. We thought his face just looked ugly and foxy by nature, but it seems it just needed some fat. He’s also exceedingly glossy now.
My Hedwig cat looked like a toothbrush used to clean toilets when we brought him in. He was thin, scruffy, googly-eyed, saggy and oddly gritty to the touch. Six months later and all my friends admire Hedwig the glossy aristocat. I look forward to the new photos of your cat at six months
Given some time and some good brushing (you would not believe the amount of hair I got off my Sapphire when I brought her home from the shelter) and I think he’s going to be gorgeous!
She was…ah…prettier to begin with (IMO, anyway, I’m a sucker for Siamese), but she was a mess. I see potential in your new overlord.
Awww…kitteh!!! He’s adorable!
And I agree with what others have said. Wait awhile…he’s pretty now (IMHO), but as he leads the lush life for awhile he’ll look even better.
A year ago we took in an abandoned cat (our Domino), and the boyfriend remarked that he was “not a handsome cat”. Couldn’t have been more wrong. The greasy, gritty black and grey cat was actually a beautifully glossy black and white tuxedo kitty with a heart of gold. Turned out to be a real class act.
Oh yes…and a major bed hog
And now Keyser has been to the vet and been checked and shaved. He is a lot more comfy but looks a bit strange.
Heh. They are more comfy after they get shaved, especially if they had mats. I had a dainty looking little medium hair kitty, and she got a summer haircut several times. She was a lot cooler, and she had far fewer insect problems.
Shaved kitties are pretty funny looking, though. I suggest that you don’t tell him what he looks like, just give him more tummy rubs.
Still summer here so a lot more comfortable than having long shaggy hair.
