Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind. ![]()
And, for your own sanity, don’t let anyone take pictures of [del]the initiation[/del] your welcoming ceremony.the .

Welcome!!
Shouldn’t you have been in school or studying or something instead of posting on a message board all day?
Just kidding; welcome to the boards! Let’s see, in less than 24 hours you got a Mod note and you corrected someone’s spelling- yeah, you’re going to fit in fine.
Now that’s gunna be fun, gday from Australia.
Homeschooled. Not too much different from actual public school, but one of the perks is being able to go on message boards. ![]()
Thanks!
Oh, my goodness!
Welcome to our little refuge from sanity, Purin血.
The ideas of my progeny posting here would fill me with dread.
They think me to be a very wise and circumspect person.
Here, maybe not so circumspect and certainly not wise.
You obviously have a wonderful relationship with your paternal-unit.
That is not common.
You are both quite fortunate, and I suppose the same could be said of the rest of your family.
Have fun here. And again, welcome.
[del]I pity you.[/del]… err … Welcome.
She just points dad to his embarrassing posts. We’ve all seen 'em. What can he say, after that? “err… [hrmm… harumphhhh…] Your mother posted that, using my account.”
… OK, Dad, whatever you say…
Thank you for the welcome. My parental unit and I are very close! A child unit such as myself is proud and thankful to have such a hilarious father, as I know such cases of not having good parents, or even any at all are common. ![]()
Hahaha! Thanks for the welcome. Maybe I should do that someday. ‘I’m not the only one looking at garbage!’
Not that I do.
If you don’t mind my asking, are you an Aspie or just funning us? There are autism related (If you subscribe to the new classification for Aspies on the spectrum instead of separate but I digress) threads going on. My youngest is on the spectrum…
Regarding your earlier question, manga for a 13 year old and an 8 year old. Zita the Space Girl is a big hit in our house. We ALL want to see how #3 works out.
She’s an aspie for reals. I like to call her my little ass-pie… But her mom seems not to delight as much in the obvious humor of such a term of endearment as much as I. Hmmm.
Anyhow, I’ll let Purinbloodpuddingsomethingorother* fill you in on the rest. She’s an amazing, precocious young woman, just don’t tell her I said that. I have to keep up my stoic charade…
*is it just me or does the kanji for blood look like a delicious cake? 血 <— that’s totally a cake, or I’m just hungry. Maybe the noobs can bring cake instead? When come back bring 血!
Nvmd. Double post.
Holy crap. I’m surprised anyone remembers that little exercise in humility and disgrace. But it was, indeed fun. I’m sure she’d blow me away in a lot of areas, won’t get any arguments from me there!
What if I bring plenty of explosives?!
I did mention that to her beforehand, and she actually read the entire FAQ, then proceeded to cop a typical teenage attitude that “the rules apply to me!”
I kid!.. She’s actually been very conscientious to the board culture, so this welcoming party is helping a ton break the ice a bit. Thanks everybody for, well, being you! So wild to be part of something so long that now my kids are old enough to join in and discover the breadth this community has to offer in wit, knowledge and… Uhhh… some other third thing! ![]()
I /highly/ Recommend a small manga called Peach Fuzz. It’s about a hamster at a pet shop who was regarded by the other hamsters queen, but had been adopted. It’s about her and the girl who adopted her’s adventures. Will the queen get back to her kindom? Will she stay and grow to like her new caretaker?
I have only read Volume 1, but it’s such an adorable manga. <3
And yes, I am indeed an Aspie! ![]()
It’s true, you all have given me such a positive feeling towards being myself, and I am excited to take part! ![]()
Oh my god.

About twickster’s warning,
… put another way, it’s like this 3-sec video request from Professor Samuel L. Jackson. NSFW, BTW!
Greetings, Purin血! Welcome a-board the good ship Straight Dope!
No. And no.
The rule was written like that so people could ask for translation help, discuss linguistics, etc. Think of it as the GQ exception.
We prefer that you not use a language other than English in MPSIMS. Even if you provide a translation, since I don’t speak (read) Japanese, I don’t know whether you said what you said you said or if you actually said “Fuck twickster and the horse she rode in on.”
Hope this is clear. And if not –
Exactamundo! ![]()
