So I've found the most addicting game that exists on the internet. No, seriously

Do you have the Sacraficial Rolling Pins?

Yup.

Hmmm… my only other suggestion is to check the wiki and see what you’re missing.

Thanks. It looks like maybe I need to buy 200 cursors to unlock an upgrade. I did that before my reset, but I guess I have to buy them again.

It took me a while to figure out why everybody but me seemed to be able to make cookies without actually clicking the mouse (although I did get a “golden cookie” for maintaining a 7/second click rate for 77 seconds, plus the “clicktastic” achievement for 1000 clicks).

That’s your reward for the golden cookie, not its cause. They appear randomly every so often. If you got a frenzy reward before you had anything else making cookies for you, it went completely to waste.

So, I finally have my Kitten Overseers. I was expecting them to take until some time on Monday before I saved up enough, but those Frenzy Lucky bonuses really add up. I should actually be able to finally finish (that is, get all of the achievements and upgrades) this run-through.

By the way, a useful formula: Every time you buy a building, its price goes up by 15%. This means that if you want to buy n of the same building (for instance, to reach a milestone to unlock an upgrade, like the 200 cursors levdrakon needs), the total cost will be equal to the current price times (1.15[sup]n[/sup] - 1)/0.15 .

Also, if you’re using the Cookie Monster add-on, it tells you a number called “base cost per income” for everything you can buy, gotten by dividing the cost of the purchase by the amount of income it would add. What this means is that that’s the payoff time, in seconds, of that investment. So if you had two games starting from the same save, and one of them bought an upgrade with a base cost per income of 1000, then after 1000 seconds, they’d have equal bank again.

In general, what I do is first look for what has the best (i.e., shortest) payoff time. If I can’t afford it yet, then I look for how long it’ll take me to afford it. Anything with a payoff time shorter than that, is a good buy. Be careful, though, because Cookie Monster does not account for things like good upgrades becoming available when you purchase some amounts, so it can be worthwhile, for instance, to buy a bunch of cursors even when they appear to be a bad investment, to open up a new *illion fingers upgrade.

That’s the most realistic part. In life, the more money you make, the more your basic expenditures seem to cost and the more of them you seem to have. Economist B. Smalls dubbed this phenomenon “Mo Money Mo Problems.”

Not sure if it’s the latest upgrade, but I’m occasionally getting discounts on buildings out of my golden cookies. Anyone else seeing these?

How does one get the Leprechaun to open up?

777 Golden Cookies. I’m at 755… (woohoo a Cookie Chain)…at 768, so I’m very excited to get it.

You wouldn’t happen to be “CHEATING” would you? Because if you load a certain cheating script, it will do that to the golden cookies.

Not that I cheat, no way no sir. How do I know you ask? A little birdie told me!

You mean with the Cookie Monster? That is just the ROI changing when you get the 7x frenzy. It all goes back when it is over.

CRAPSTICKS!!! I only got that for the golden cookie autoclicker - I can’t see the cookies on my screen and was missing them. OK - will remove that.

Anyone know of a good GC clicker/highligher?

The dev of the game has said here that he plans to eventually install sound and will make it so when Golden Cookies come up, it will play one. He seems to imply this is still far away, though.

You guys are smoking crack. Puzzles and dragons is the most addictive game ever. It’s a similar pointless rpg that involves ever increasing levels but has a little more variety. iOS and android… See you in 4000 hours or so.

He’s planning on adding dungeons …

I don’t get it at all.

WTF are you people seeing that’s so addictive?

Are you required to take a puff or snort before “playing” this thing?

I’m baffled.

Why do people play any game? Because it amuses them, and they want to see what happens next.

For the record, I use no (illegal) mind-altering substances.

I have to say that I’m scratching my head too. How is this a game? What’s its goal? After letting it run for a little over 7 hours and checking in every so often, I am now making 4,246,711.4 cookies per second.

I have 3 antimatter condensers, and a bunch of portals and time machines. Every couple of hours I come back and “buy” another condenser or portal or two. I’ve clicked on a couple of cookies that appeared on the screen and have gotten some bonuses. I’ve also gotten some achievements. I now have over ten billion cookies and counting.

Is there something else to this? Am I missing something? If not, I think I’m going to pack it in.

Oh come on… I can understand why some games are played, and others become an obsession. But this? This isn’t a “game”. It requires no skill. And yet, people are addicted to it? Why? What’s the obsession? No one can articulate a goal. It seems to be a pointless program, running on your computer to do what again? Gain cookies? For what reason? It amuses you? How is that possible? What are you amused by? The number of cookies? Yippee

This is like a snipe hunt. I’m not buying it.

I’m glad (but amazed) you are not on any mind-altering substances.
