So I've found the most addicting game that exists on the internet. No, seriously

I think you can put it down to the old adage that there’s no accounting for taste.

But nothing happens next. Nothing that wasn’t already happening.

I can articulate my goal: To get 100% of the achievements and upgrades.

As to why it’s so addictive, I think it’s the pacing: No matter how far you go, there’s always something that feels like it’s just around the corner, so there’s no sense in giving up now, just before you would have gotten that.

OK, so I bought the research upgrade and have angry grannies. I don’t see any adverse effects, am I missing something?

Red Cookies.

Some or all (depending on how angry they are) of your golden cookies have been replaced by red cookies. Red cookies have a different set of possible outcomes from golden ones, including some bad outcomes. Don’t worry too much about it until you get the third upgrade for golden cookies (the one that increases their duration): Once you get that, you should start buying Elder Pledge whenever you’re sitting in front of your computer, because with the increased duration, golden cookies have a high chance of giving you a Lucky while you’re still in a Frenzy, which is a huge windfall beyond anything the Red Cookies can give you. Before then, though, the value of red and golden cookies are comparable.

Never buy the Elder Covenant, except just once right before you’re about to reset anyway just for the achievement. Repeatedly buying Pledges will always be cheaper than the 5% loss from the Covenant.

And if you don’t know what I’m talking about with Pledges and Covenants, then you haven’t gone all the way into the Grandmapocalypse yet.

I’m curious as to what you think about cRPGs.

“So what do you do in your WoW guild?”
“We raid twice a week”
“And what do you do there?”
“We attempt to clear out all the monsters in a particular dungeon.”
“And what do you get for that”
“We get new gear with better stats”
“And what can you do with the new gear?”
“When we all get geared up, we can go on to the next dungeon.”

Really, this is the same thing, except you don’t have to deal with the basement-Napoleon shouting “50 DKP MINUS” in your ear over Vent.

To be honest, I have never understood the appeal of RPGs, so of that’s what you need to understand this game, you may have found why I fail to get it. And I’m glad I don’t get it, if that’s the case.

Where is the research upgrade?

Really then, fans of RPG’s should avoid this game, as it seems to shine a light onto just how shallow RPG’s would appear to be.

It’s called One Mind. It’s one of the ones you get from the Bingo Research Center after you buy that.

What is the red tide that is sloshing around under my cookie clicker?

Raspberry milk.

And… That’s it! I’m done! Read 'em and weep.

It doesn’t have staying power, but it was a fun diversion for a few days.

I’ve got 7,131,9546,777,313,917 cookies baked alltime. All the upgrades too. Not sure if I should reset to make it easier to get the 100 anti condensers. I’m currently at 79.

Currently have…

200 cursors 30.1 million cps
175 grandmas 38.1 million cps
160 farms 3,200 cps
145 factories 16,240 cps
130 mines 52,000 cps
125 shipments 130,000 cps
115 alchemy labs 460,000 cps
110 portals 7.3 million cps
100 time machines 86.9 million cps
78 antimatter condensers 686 million cps…I hate to reset when i’m so close.

Have you ever reset? How many Heavenly Chips do you have? I’ve reset twice now with stats like that. Those last 20 Antimatter Condensers get ridiculously expensive, and it’s worth starting over at a higher speed.

I haven’t reset yet. It is getting boring because the only thing I can buy is a antimatter condenser but they cost 577,266,587,829,736 now. I’m at 85 anti condensers with 952 golden cookies. I really don’t even know what a heavenly cookie is.

Cookies baked alltime currently…8,462,232,933,434,741. I’m thinking I wait until I reach 11.5.

I’m kinda glad i’ll be gone for a few days. I guess i’m gonna hide my laptop in the basement so my wife doesn’t see it and leave it running. I’m contemplating whether or not to reset now though. I kinda wanna leave it running without resetting and then reset when I get back.

In fairness, that’s games in general, no?

“So what do you do in this ‘Chess?’”
“We move little carved pieces around on a board.”
“And how do you move them?”
“Following set rules that never change.”
“And what do you get if you win?”
“We switch colors and start over.”

And perhaps even more so:

“So what do you do with this ‘NFL Football?’”
“We watch other people run around on a field somewhere…”
“And why do you care if they win?”
“Because they’re OUR TEAM. They represent us! Even through almost none of the team members are natives of here!”
