So I've found the most addicting game that exists on the internet. No, seriously

It is kind an exercise in Zen Cookie Clicker. You restart your game, and then you just sit there. Click nothing, you must. Golden cookies appear no more frequently than once every 5 minutes at the beginning, so you need to just hang out and click those. The formula for ‘lucky’ cookies will give you something like 13+ (some fraction of your cookie bank). So, you’ll want a lucky cookie, then you’ll have to wait for another to multiply your cookie supply to a level at which you can buy some cookie producing buildings.

It only counts clicks on the Big Cookie as cookie clicks, so clicking golden cookies and buying buildings or upgrades doesn’t add to your total. If you get really lucky and find one of those 777x cookies, just don’t click more than 15 times and you’ll be on your way.

Seems like a waste of time, but if you are going to leave the thing on for a week or whatever, that extra half hour at the beginning will pay off soon enough.

Gotcha. Thanks.

One more thing – During my first 2 resets, I got all of the possible upgrades. If I reset again to go after the Neverclick, they all go away. Does it still count as a “win” if I have the Neverclick but not the upgrades at the same time?

Probably the best thing about resetting is that you can collect your heavenly chips. With them you’ll be able to re-acquire everything you had before pretty quickly and then some, so in the long run it is better to have the achievements (with their multiplicative bonuses) and re-acquire the upgrades. You need to reset once before you get the grandmapacalyps and see wrinklers, which makes one worth it right there. Once you start getting into the 100’s or 1000’s of heavenly chips, they really jack up your production. But milk for the kittehs is best of all.

Okay, I started playing this yesterday, and I still haven’t seen a Golden Cookie. Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong? Or what I need to do to make the Golden Cookies appear? I even tried the resizing the window thing and just starting at it for about 15 minutes and got nothing. FWIW I haven’t used any cheats or add-ons of any kind.

I think you are missing them for some reason. To find out:

  • press F12. You will get the browser console
  • enter at the prompt: Game.missedGoldenClicks
  • the response will tell you how many GC’s you have missed
  • press F12 again to dismiss the console

I’m using Firefox so pressing F12 didn’t work, but I Googled and found I needed to press CTRL SHIFT K to get the console to come up.

It says I’ve missed 0 Golden Cookies. The game has been running for 21 hours at this point.

Does anyone have any idea what I need to do to make Golden Cookies appear?

Lamia Something is wrong, because GC’s should start appearing without any pre-requisite: See http://cookieclicker.wikia.com/wiki/Golden_Cookie

There may be a bug in Firefox:

Weirdly enough, I just got my first Golden Cookie without doing anything differently. Huh.

The game itself has no official “win condition”. The only “counts as a win” is what you decide for yourself.

Not true: I won the game. Managed it about two hours after I saw this thread for the first time back in September.

Just fired up the game after a 40 day hiatus. New stuff! Got some more achievements, let my Covenant run out and now I’m popping wrigglers. They’re so cute. I guess the deal is you wait for ten of them to nibble on your cookie clicker, pop them and collect the Halloween cookies. Got two so far.

I saw this thread the other day and thought “how addictive could it really be?”. So I’m currently proving it’s not addictive by having let it run for 46 hours, 61 trillion cookies baked (28 trillion of them handmade), 886 million cookies baking per second and clicking worth 44 million each. I also got an autoclicker and let that run as well. I think my non-addictive point has been solidly made!

hmm, I just started using the cookie monster utility and the golden cookie counter doesn’t seem to be working. It starts at around 800 seconds to next cookie, gets down to some random number and then resets.

The exact spawn time is random, the number you see it the maximum time until the next cookie, I think, it usually spawn at 100±20 seconds.

This is a silly, stupid game that I somehow let my computer keep running for like 2 days straight. Watching numbers go up, but slightly faster each time - woohoo! I would feel guilty, but the game doesn’t actually require any real time investment past the first 30 minutes or so. And it really exemplifies that age-old adage It takes cookies to make cookies.

Anyone try the beta? Those dungeons are like a horrible buggy Nethack-wannabe in which you can’t do anything but move (extremely awkwardly). I’m not quite sure what the point is…

Golden cookies take 75-225 seconds to bake. Oven temperatures may vary.

I wanted to get the 100 particle accelerator achievement before I reset, but they’re already over a quadrillion and a half each. I’m letting wrinklers run now and we’ll see.

If you’ve never reset at all, it’ll take friggin’ forever to get to 100 AMCs. The quickest path to 100 AMCs involves resetting 4 or 5 times.

Yea, I figured. I’m already at 92 though, so it feels so close.
