So I've found the most addicting game that exists on the internet. No, seriously

I’m in Chrome.

To fix the problem, I restarted my computer and reloaded orteil…etc., as the only browser window. I went to Task Manager and upgraded the priority of all 4 Chrome processes to ‘Above Normal’. The game isn’t hiccup-free, but the frequency of the hiccups is far closer to actual hiccups than before.

Yes, but I always did that (because of my OCD mentioned above). I’m playing for a game that was not reset before refreshing, and it doesn’t appear they removed those seasonal cookies from my list of purchases. Are there new cookies, and if so, in which season?

Ah, no, it seems that the seasonal cookies are the same ones. So if you already have them you will be getting the effects and don’t need to go back to those seasons.

You’ll want to reset soon though. I reset twice today and within 5-6 hours of updating to v2 had production over 1000x what it was before the update (and all-time baked went from 20-30 sextillion with 1200+ hours played to over 1.5 septillion in a day). Getting a couple frenzy/click-frenzy combos (as well as one frenzy/dragonflight combo when I had that aura active, for an effective x7777 click power) helped in getting monumental boosts. I mean it was good to get the combo before, but it feels even more insane now for some reason. Of course, with the increased cost of everything and all the new upgrades and achievements, I’m probably now years away from “winning”. I think the highest non-shadow achievement now is to reset with an undecillion, or 10^36 cookies.

OK, I went to the achievements and got the other two “aha!” easy achievements. Now I’ll have to stop giving cookies to get the clicker to 400 and instead try and get all my buildings to 200 and then 300.

OK, will do soon. I still don’t get the dragon upgrades. :frowning:

You can’t get the dragon until at least one reset, because the thing that unlocks the dragon is a prestige upgrade (which you only get the opportunity to get during resets).

And I’ve only gotten one Big Combo so far (an Elder Frenzy Reindeer), and I’ve still doubled my all-time overnight.

Oh hell no. Just when I’m finally within a few days of getting the Kitten Managers, they pull this shit on me?

I’m going to stick with 1.0466 until I get the Managers and a few more achievements, which should be by the weekend, then take a few months off before I tackle the new version. So I tell myself now.

So I had over 200 prisms when I upgraded, with the double prisms bonus. Now, the 200th prism will cost in the neighborhood of 2 octillion- I may not see 200 prisms again very soon, and would have to continue without that huge bonus after ascending.

So. What is on ‘the other side’? Are the bonuses worth ascending and losing double prisms? Right now I am inclined to put it off and rake in about 10,000 prestige points per day until I am sure I will make up the difference that way.

The bonuses are worthwhile. Besides which, one of the things you can get when you ascend is permanent upgrades: You spend a few heavenly chips (the first two are cheap) and select an upgrade you’ve purchased on your previous play-through, and you now get that upgrade for free at the start of the next game. So put the 200 prisms upgrade in one of them and the most expensive kittens you can get in the other, and you’re not losing anything.

How much prestige do these things cost? I’m trying to decide if I should reset now or wait another day or so. I’m at prestige level 2465, and if I ascend now I’ll get another 7000 or so.

The first perma-upgrade slot costs 100 heavenly chips, the second costs 2,000, and the third costs 30,000. You’ll also want to buy the season switcher, now a prestige item rather than an upgrade, and it costs 1,111.

hmmmm, ok.

Next question. If I “spend” my prestige on these perma upgrades, does that mean they will then be unavailable to used for what they normally are (multiplier bonuses)?

The “prestige levels” are your permanent multipliers now; you don’t spend them. Heavenly chips are still the currency that you can now spend.

With the perma-upgrade slots, you buy the slots for HC and then you can pick any normal upgrades that you’ve previously purchased in order to put into them for the next game (you can change it for free each time you ascend if you get a better upgrade that you want to put into the slot next game). So basically it’s giving you the upgrade and its associated bonus for free, from the start of your game, without having to buy it. Doesn’t change its effect materially.

Okeedokee, I think I get it. Thanks. Maybe I’ll bankroll a few more thousand before resetting.

There are also a bunch of other prestige upgrades that cost a mere few tens of chips, which can make a significant difference to the game.

The first plan for the reset is to get the Hardcore achievement. Then figure out the prestige upgrades and regular upgrades.

I reactivated my old work-computer CC save, wherein a glitch and a lie had gotten me one billion heavenly chips (total production : 500 octillion). I now have just under 800,000 chips but my production is WAY faster. Let’s put it this way : after the glitch, I produced 9 octillion cookies on that game before shutting it down, over the course of months. Since I reactivated the save, more than 16 octillion.

My home game remains 100% legit.
