Its cool. I’m not really interested in them either, I didn’t watch the wedding episode or any of the episodes prior. I only occasionally watch them because Lamar Odom is on the show. I posted mainly to discuss if people think they faked the wedding or not and any interesting tidbits they might get as a fallout. I guess Kim’s hot, but not enough for me to keep watching.

She might’ve liked that dumb hunk - he’s NOT the guy from Twilight? Looks like him - but she was evaluating him based on his fit into her plans for her brand…

Again - I have no idea what I am talking about; I avoid this stuff like the plague. But watching it from a distance - just like seeing ads for WWE Wrestling Events - I always find myself thinking “Okay, who doesn’t realize this is fake and who realizes it is fake but enjoys following the made-up plot twists?”

Supposedly the wedding cost $10 million. While I didn’t expect them to last long, and wasn’t sure if it was simply a publicity stunt, the cost seems to be too much for it to simply have been fake from the beginning. Unless, I suppose, the $10 million is exaggerated too.

They netted $17 million from the wedding. That means that they’ve made $236k a day for their marriage, not counting the stories they’ve sold to magazines and such since the wedding day. And how much are people going to pay each of them for exclusive photos and interviews?
Tacky and trashy, but a damned good business move.

I sincerely hope that this doesn’t come across as threadshitting - that is not my intent at all - but it grinds me that this is even considered worth talking about. This is a business move by a business person who is managing their life decisions solely based on the ability to maintain/expand their “brand,” profit and move on. I mean, no one finds this surprising and no one takes it remotely seriously, right? This is the Celebutant equivalant to Pro Wrestling, right? Silly stories woven with twists so the target audience can enjoy the characters…

The fact that their brand is enabled simply because we have enough media bandwidth these days to accomodate this type of “celebrity” is, well, not surprising, but really not worth much discussion beyond that…right?

But this is threadshitting. Some people keep up with celebrity gossip and some don’t. Just like some people keep up with sports and some don’t. I don’t keep up with sports and don’t give a shit about them, but I don’t go into sports-related threads and wonder aloud why anybody else cares about it, and say it’s not worth discussing. That’s kind of a rude thing to say about a teenage girl who has in no way done any of the things her sister have done. It’s particularly rude if it’s the youngest girl, since she doesn’t really do anything except normal stuff- going to school, etc.

Oh please! I reject the notion that a teenager is automatically innocent because they are only a teenager. I agree with you- hating on a 14 or 15 year old girl because of who her sister is struck me as a bit distasteful.

As for Kim Kardashian not doing anything, we should all be so lazy. She parlayed being Robert Kardashian’s daughter with a sex tape into several tv shows, a fashion line, a couple of boutique stores, and god knows how many other business ventures she has going. The Kardashians made $65 million last year alone.
