well now I’m upset about a little more serious issue.
One of my very best friends got in a car wreck, and he wasn’t driving, and is now in critical condition with a broken collarbone and internal bleeding in his brain. I’m really upset, because I can’t lose my friend, and he’s not doing very well…
Somebody give me some big hugs, because I hate life right now.

It has been sixteen months since my son was in the wreck that nearly cost him his life. He wasn’t driving either, he was a passenger on the side that got broadsided by a bus. While he didn’t suffer any broken bones, he did have three skull fractures and bleeding on the brain in those three places. He was kept sedated for seven days, and stayed in the hospital for another two and a half weeks.
I tell you this not to have you worry, but to let you know He Is Doing Fine Now. It is my sincere hope your friend recovers as well as my son did. He was in a great trauma hospital, Parkland in Dallas.
It wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t quick. It took over two months of rehab and several more of slow healing. But thanks to the fantastic care he received at Parkland and at HealthSouth Rehab, he is back to his former self.
Ask his doctors and nurses for any literature they may have on brain trauma. This will help you to understand what your friend is going through, and give you guidelines on how to help him.

I talked to his mom today for a while, and they think he’ll be alright, its just going to be a long recovery process.
I just hate it when life kicks my ass all at one time.

I woke up, my back was hurtin like hell from sleeping on it wrong. It rained. I got turned down by the girl I liked. Best friend didn’t call, even though she said she would.
