So what did you give(and get) for Valentine's Day?

Then my brother came in and slipped on the alcohol. Come to think of it, not only does Oscar remind me of my father, but I got the middle brother hooked on the series by telling him he’d relate to Buster.

I gave various people 58 floral arrangements - some with teddy bears and some with balloons!! beat that
( I worked as a driver for a florist)

HubZilla the KidZilla is just waaaaaaaaaay too cute. I bet you’ve been grinning from ear to ear all day.

I got the best Valentine’s Day gift ever - he told me, “I love you,” for the first time. I’d actually been waiting 'till yesterday to tell him the same thing, but he beat me to it. Wheee!

You deserve it, old friend.

*STILL! OLD! FRIEND! *

(Sorry, couldn’t resist.)

You will, of course, tell us how it went…we’ll be waiting here for your speedy reply.

Holy CRAP that was cute!!

Hubby ended up getting me some … non-traditional flowers. He doesn’t like to buy “dead” ones, so I got two house plants, an Anthurium with red flowers and a Rubber Tree Plant. He didn’t buy a card, but he did write out something suitably mushy.

We stayed in and ate Chinese and watched the Olympics. Then we went to bed early!

I got a kind email note from Aesiron (thanks again, darlin’! :))

Whoops! Spoke too soon!

Guess who showed up at my office last night, to pick me up for dinner, with a vase full of flowers for my desk!?

So, I come back in here today to ask Anastasaeon if she ever got her flowers, and if not, where were they supposed to come from, because mine never materialized.

Since I’m sure, darlin’ that you won’t remember anything prior to last night, and I see you got 'em…maybe I will start a pit thread.
Congratulations!

It went great! The food turned out excellent, and he practically had an orgasm when I busted out a plate of no-bake cookies for him (they’re his absolute favorite).

The he was all confused when I told him to put on a sweater because we were going for a little hike. I grabbed the telescope lenses and the holding tray for them (I didn’t want to leave them out in the field) and he was like, “What are those for?” Then we got halfway there and he said, “I KNOW WHAT IT IS, YOU BOUGHT A TELESCOPE OH MY GOD I’VE ALWAYS WANTED ONE HOW DID YOU KNOW!” and he was literally jumping up and down like a little boy. It was still kind of cloudy but we had an excellent view of the full moon. All in all, a very successful Valentine’s day.

I bought my boys each a heart shaped box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates because they both love them. They each returned the favor by leaving one of their treats on my desk for me.

For my sweetie I bought 2 CDs. The new Mariah Carey CD and the new Andrea Bocelli. He loved them both.

When I got home from work yesterday the lights were dim, candles were lit all over the house, there was a bouquet of flowers with a note on the living room table, one of the new CDs was playing, and hubby was in the kitchen whipping up dinner. What a great spread. Shrimp cocktail, gazpacho salad, and king crab legs. I pulled out a bottle of Champagne I had chilling, and made us some strawberries dipped in chocolate for dessert. We spent the night watching sappy movies while eating one delicious meal, cuddling, and umm, stuff. Very nice low-key Valentine’s Day.

Hubzilla, you have an exceptionally cute child. And I am generally immune…

Since I’m here…
Jellychick and I tried SO HARD to not celebrate V Day, but we just couldn’t help it. I knew the jig was up when she woke me up from a nap on Sunday with a “Happy I Love You Day” gift (“It’s NOT a V Day gift, it’s NOT!!” ) - a Nano engraved with “Yours Forever, Love, Me”. Too cool! She got the Valentine I made for her at work Monday. Then Tuesday we woke up to discover we had sent each other the same exact ecard! I snuck up to her office and surprised her with the same roses she had just bought me earlier. When she came home, we played with the little Kama Sutra kit I bought her and had our traditional Gooey Pizza and Veuve Clicquot V Day dinner with ganache cake to follow. Yum! The bracelet I bought her has “Forever” engraved on it. Sigh I guess great (romantic) minds think alike. So. That was us NOT celebrating V Day, lol.

Awwwww! I’m so sorry to hear that yours never arrived. :frowning:

Incidentally, though it doesn’t matter at this point, mine came from Ballard Blossom, just up the street from here. We always do business with them, for all our flower-y needs, and this was quite unusual. My husband got on the phone with them several times last night, calmly telling them he was displeased. He was very good, not yelling at the person on the phone - it was hardly their fault! Anyway, around 7:30pm (!) the delivery guy shows up, and he apologised profusely to us, explaining that it had been a very busy, hectic day. I couldn’t hold it against him, after all, I’m certain he was telling the truth, it was Valentine’s Day, and I’m sure everyone and their mother (really!) were getting flowers that day. And hey, I had my flowers, so I smiled at him and wished him a happy Valentine’s Day, and hoped he was almost done. He looked utterly relieved, poor kid. My husband waved him off, still grumbling a little bit, since they weren’t the exact flowers he’d ordered, but I was happy, and that’s all that mattered to him. I love all flowers, so it’s truly the thought that counted for me. He could have pulled up our neighbours crocuses and I would have been happy. Well. I might feel bad for the neighbour.

I bet a lot of orders got mixed up, lost, or broken yesterday. Valentine’s Day must be hell for those folks. :frowning:

She got a vase of Stargazer Lillies, on the previous friday, so they’d have time to open over the weekend and stink up her place all Hawaii style. Personally delivered at work, so the help could ooh/ahh over them, which they did.

First Valentine’s day as a married couple.

My lovely husband got me flowers (red, yellow and white roses), for the first time ever!
I also got beautiful lingerie, and lovely Lush goodies for the bath- Sonic Death Monkey shower gel (it smells like chocolate) and a Tisty Tosty rose-scented bath ballistic.

I got him the Miller’s Crossing special edition DVD and the book Jarhead.

We had a lovely bath, Chinese food, a bottle or two of wine, and enjoyed the day the way newlyweds are supposed to. It was the best Valentines ever.
