I posted in the “Anxiety Inducer” thread about how I was anxious about running for re-election to council and couldn’t wait for it to be over.
I didn’t want to muck up that perfectly anxious thread with my news so I’ll post it here…
Not only did I win one of the city council 3 seats, I was the top vote-getter, beating out the 22-year-council-veteran and the very friendly retired cop (both of whom I supported, and both of whom also won a seat). I got 200 more votes than I did 4 years ago, even though 350 fewer people voted this year (54% this year versus 41% 4 years ago).
Flyin’ high. You get close to zero positive feedback during the year when you’re on council. The only way to know if people see you is at election time. People see me and I LOVE it.
(Also our contentious school board race went well, with the 3 anti-mask candidates being beaten out by the 2 people with actual education experience.)
