So, what made you smile today?

I hope we get to see it too. :slightly_smiling_face:

This morning I had to get a blood draw. The technician was a Southern Asian woman, Pakistani or Indian, perhaps. I flinched when the needle went in, and she said soothingly, “I know, the prick is hard.” I had to turn my head and cover my mouth so she wouldn’t see me trying not to laugh.

Woke up this morning and one of the Roku channels was playing Charles Band’s 1977 musical Cinderella.

A woman became friends with a London street cleaner, Paul Spiers, through a mutual
love of Elvis who’s music he played through a speaker on his cart.
She started a GoFundMe campaign which raised £3000 to pay for a holiday in Portugal
for him, but the local council’s contract with his employer forbade it.
So, a local Travel Agent ran a competition, with a prize of a holiday in Portugal, which was
open to applicants who “love Elvis Presley, are aged between 62 and 64, are loved by the local community, are a street cleaner in Beckenham and have the surname Spiers”.
And … Paul won the prize !
Sorted.

A client made cream cheese wontons and brought them into my workplace just for me and one other person. There weren’t enough of them to share around with everyone, something I think she did deliberately. She had to make (and pay for) an extra trip on our bus service to bring them to us. I feel cherished.

Last night we were babysitting the grandkid, age not yet 4. At one point they said a version of one of their more recent quips: “Give me a thumbs up and click on subscribe.” This tends to come out when they are finished with one of their imagination plays with little figures.

They first time this came out the mother said “We are such bad parents.”

I saw a woman walking a Yorkie in an umbrella stroller .

After going without a pontoon boat last summer and this one (and making many jokes about how great it was), we bought one yesterday. My gf insists that we are better off with a pontoon than without. We shall see!

Grapefruit campari sorbet.

I am sure this will bring many smiles!

I’m at Rosston Eddy Marina now, waiting for the boat to arrive. The two happiest days; the day you get a boat, and the day you sell the boat.

seems like we need boat updates here …

Here’s our 2019 90 HP Yamaha on a Yamaha Sun Catcher pontoon boat. Not the fanciest boat out there, but way fancier than my first 3 pontoon boats.

Unfortunately, the side gate is on the port side and the only open slip has me entering/exiting starboard. It’ll be extra work docking, but I’m up to it.

Check out the stern…that’s a propane grill with a griddle top.

The boat is at the marina, but on the trailer. I’m picking up a hitch for my gf’s truck today and getting wet tomorrow.

In the Furniture With Proper Names thread, kaylasdad99 posted a song about IKEA that just busted me up.

Much obliged, kaydad.

The only meeting scheduled for today was just cancelled. :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m going to @ him to be sure he sees this. Then I’m going to go read that post!
@kaylasdad99

Thank you much.

(Rhyming “Norsemen” with “Divorced men” is a stroke of genius.)

You live in a country where King Missile is not banned?

I unexpectedly saw my neighbor at a store faraway, having known the guy my whole life. He’s a landscape business owner who used to be undocumented and crossed the border on a seasonal basis in the 80s. I was surprised that he knew my name but he is naturally outgoing.

And now I can’t get the line Ev’rybody stopped to stare at your multicolored motorhome… out of my head.
