So, what made you smile today?

Could be worse. Could be “Ass Cookies”

I spin it every time

More like laughing until I have tears in my eyes:

:notes: She do the Nala Stomp! :musical_note:

Today we helped a blind woman in a queue at the local railroad station ticket office. A really simple opportunity to be a decent person. That made me smile. (Plus her assistance dog was gorgeous.)

"The Grateful Dead have broken the record for the most Top 40 albums to chart on the Billboard 200.

The Grateful Dead pulled out ahead of Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra with 59 total Top 40 entries on the chart Monday following the No. 25 debut of their archival release “Dave’s Picks, Volume 49: Frost Amphitheatre, Stanford U., Palo Alto, CA (4/27/85 & 4/28/85).” Elvis and Sinatra are stuck at 58 albums apiece."

I posted this over in the MMP but there isn’t a lot of overlap, and well, this one fit here, too. It made me happy, and I wanna share.

Background: I was working the drive-thru window at the local pizza joint, the other night. (Been there a bit.)

Woman at the window I was finishing up with pointed out that the car behind her had their headlights off. “I don’t want them to get pulled over!”
I told her that was sweet of her (“Good lookin’ out, hon!”) and frankly, I’d already seen it and was gonna say something to them once they pulled up anyway.

One of our regulars, “Earl,” who’s about two hundred years old and looks like a very bedraggled Santa, pulled up next.

I pointed out that he was in “stealth mode” in the darkness, and he replied that he had turned the lights off so they didn’t shine in the eyes of the person in front of him.

I told him, that was very sweet of him.

So there we have two complete strangers looking out for each other, with absolutely no reward expected or even possible; just being good souls.

… and me as the messenger between the two.

I was watching the newest season of Queer Eye yesterday. I just love makeovers! When they showed their makeover-ee his revamped house he was so amazed and touched that I noticed I was smiling! I find myself smiling, tearing up or both while watching just about every episode.

Who’s having the most fun here? (Hint: it’s me!)

Forwarded to me by my wife who is always good for a smile.

A friend breeds Golden Retrievers. Every so often we stop by to visit. My gf will sit on a blanket and my friend will let a litter of 8-10 eight week old puppies loose to mob her. She says it totally de-stresses her.

The dog in that vid is very similar to our Lizzie, who is part Golden and part Border Collie. My wife (rightly so) gives me grief when I say Lizzie is sharp as a tack one minute and dumb as a bag of hammers the next – you can sometimes see it switch back and forth on her face. Gotta love her!

And, yes, rabbits do like to play with friendly dogs.

How often do you see a greetings card which is supposedly funny… and actually is?

I’ve got a new foster dog. She’s 12 years old and massively obese at 102 lb.

What I expected was a dog who would would have to be dragged out of bed for a low-speed daily mosey. A dog sedentary enough that my notoriously-persnickety small senior dog would be able to tolerate her and, at best, coexist peacefully with her. And it was my hope that she would tolerate him and, at best, be chill enough to be safe around him.

What I did not expect was that, after a few days of working out their places with each other, they would be best friends and would be running around the house, wrestling and playing together.

She bounces, play bows, runs, and then takes a break. He climbs on her, does zoomies with her, offers her his toys, and… he’s always got impossible amounts of energy, but he does actually eventually wear out. It’s adorable.

Wow, that made me smile! So nice when surprises are this pleasing. I love it that he offers her his toys. Thanks for sharing this with us.

pinging @Czarcasm

Aww, I love it when the universe aligns like that.

I don’t understand how all this works, but if Dick’s Picks keep releasing stuff that counts for this, The Grateful Dead will shatter and bury this record forever. And good for them! Man, that Vegas show when the lightning came…

Anyway, what made me smile? Detachable Penis just came on the stereo.

Even though sometimes, it’s a pain in the ass…

You’ll like it now, you’ll learn to love it later…

Probably coulda linked a Robby Robertson track here, too…

Ha! I was introduced to that one by Mr. “Mom, when did you stop listening to new music?” He made me a compilation CD and that was on it.

I saved up that question to ask him, later. And I remembered to do it. He was properly amused by it.

I bought a used piece of furniture through FB Marketplace last night and picked it up today. It is exactly what I wanted for the space/price. When spring comes, I will paint it some alarming color because my place needs color. I can’t wait.
