Yeah, I need to check for them anytime I let the dogs out after sundown.
That caused a good laugh. Thank you @ThelmaLou
We had a not-very-pleasant meeting today via MS Teams. But one of our small group was hard at work on something and she kept giggling. When the meeting ended, she sent us all an email with a photoshop of us all looking like cranky movie critics at a first showing. It cracked me up. We needed that.
Seeing ol’ Teddy definitely made me smile!!
I’ve been participating in the community Trunk or Treat every year for the past 5 years. I do a big fucking production out of it, like it’s an art installation/stage show (it’s not anything close to that it just FEELS like that much work). The kids usually don’t give a shit about the state of your trunk, they just want candy. Parents usually kinda dig it. My trunk always looks good in pictures.
Anyway I emailed the coordinator today to let her know I was going to participate this year. She’s the new contact, I usually contact someone else to let them know. This new woman replied back immediately and said she was excited I was coming and asked what my theme would be (Alice in Wonderland) and said she looks forward to seeing me every year. It made me smile
This thread, and this group, makes me smile.
I’d never heard of Trunk or Treat before, and this post makes me smile.
We saw Crazy Rich Asians tonight, and that made us smile.
And of course, you will be posting a picture at the appropriate time, yes?
This happened about a month ago but, as I was thinking about it this morning I smiled again, so I’m going to count it.
I was in the grocery store and I saw this young man, probably about 8, in the aisle ahead of me. He was eying a jar of Goober peanut butter and jelly. Unfortunately, it was on the top shelf and
no matter how hard he stretched, he couldn’t quite reach it. He was looking at the shelves, trying to decide if he could climb up, when I asked him if he needed some help. He said, “Yes, sir.” So I pointed at one of the jars and asked him if that was what he wanted. “Yes, sir.” I handed him the jar and he excitedly said, “Thank you”, and we went our separate ways.
But I’ll tell you what, I’m still smiling about how happy that young man was over a jar of peanut butter and jelly.
The dogs at my house are still trying to settle in and relax with the new puppy. Feeding times at the zoo can be very challenging. Either they won’t eat or they want to eat one of the other dogs’ food. It’s what you’d call a real cluster f%$k. This morning I set down the food dishes and stood back to watch and referee. All three ate all of their own food without me directing dogs to their own bowls. That made me smile.
I don’t know if this would make a difference, but I read somewhere that you should have at least one more food bowl than you have animals. Back when I had five patio cats, I’d have six or seven food bowls. Of course, they all contained the same food. This wouldn’t work so well for different diets.
Here’s my past Trunks to whet your appetite. Turns out it’s only been 4.
I’m smiling! You really go all out, that’s cool.
Those are so cool!
This story made me grin ear-to-ear; thanks.
Sidebar: you may have saved the young man from bodily injury – bonus smile for you.
I wasn’t picturing a car trunk–I was thinking of a steamer trunk. Not sure why…
These are great! I love the Elvis one!
Thanks so much for sharing these! I can’t wait to see this year’s model; did you say Alice in Wonderland??? Yeah, this is what made me smile today.
This capybara lolling about with husky puppies made me smile today:
That is awesome! People keep capybaras as pets? My girlfriend would never allow it.
That is so sweet!
I’ll tell you what just made me laugh out loud.
I was trying to figure out what time to take some medicine and I’m just so tired that I couldn’t quickly calculate 24 divided by 3. So I asked google and then I felt immediately embarrassed and so I defended myself to google.
And google responded that I must have worked very hard today and he could offer some soothing nature sounds or if I prefer, some rocking music to get the blood flowing.
I should probably be creeped out, but it just cracked me up. Regardless, I’m hoping for a foot rub on demand soon.
