So What Public Figure is Going to Make the Most Incendiary Quote About the Election?

Nader said Obama might be an Uncle Tom. Last night. Video.

OMG GargoyleWB was right!! (“Down goes Frazier” is a famous Cosell line).

Didn’t Spike Lee also say something about how now we can refer to time as BB and AB? Before Barack and After Barack?

Thanks, but I’ll pass…

Spike Lee may be a complete fucking moron, but what did he do wrong here?

Political contests have been compared to sporting events for decades. And comparing Obama-McCain to a boxing match is particularly apt, especially considering how many times I heard the media say that Obama was looking for a knockout blow.

And second of all, this is a new day in African-American history. Everything before today was different. Looking at it that way is not strange at all. Just ask other oppressed groups like women (the 19th amendment/Rosie the Riveter) and gays (Stonewall). One moment can change everything.

Since there haven’t been any riots, I’m glad someone is keeping this kind of attitude alive.

I saw a cartoon by a conservative that depicted Karl Marx wearing an Obama button, but I’m sure somebody will top that or has already done so.

It’s not a quote, but here are some Obama supporters last night in front of the White House…

Nader’s quote:

“To put it very simply, he is our first African American president; or he will be. And we wish him well. But his choice, basically, is whether he’s going to be Uncle Sam for the people of this country, or Uncle Tom for the giant corporations.”

Inflammatory and rather nonsensical and cranky all at once.

I was going to post this. Totally lacking in class. Why do they bother interviewing him anymore?

So you’re saying he’s insane at any speed?

What did Limbaugh say about the election?

News reporting is about ratings, not class.

After Bill Clinton won the 1992 presidential election, Hillary Clinton immediately announced that, henceforth, she would be known as “Hillary Rodham Clinton.” So maybe Obama can now become B. Hussein Obama, his rightful name.

Do I win?

Did nobody notice Richard PArker won the thread?

Ralph Nader accused Obama of possibly being an “Uncle Tom” just minutes after most of the networks had predicted he’d win. I mean, that’s fast. I didn’t think Ralph could beat out Coulter, but he did.

Bush will refer to Obama as that black guy when he forgets his name or call him Osama Bin Laden while shaking his hand the first time they meet.

Phelps is saying he plans to protest Obama’s grandmother’s funeral and that :

Does that qualify as an incendiary quote about the election ?

I have no problem with comparing the election to a sporting event, or even a boxing match. Lee was wearing a t-shirt depicting Obama as a basketball player slam-dunking over McCain, which was fine. It was the violent theme of the boxing shirt I found questionable. It just seemed to conflict with everything Obama stands for. I would have been more comfortable with the two candidates standing in the ring with the ref raising Obama’s hand.

Chacun a son goute, I guess.

Wouldn’t that be Darryl Lict? See post #4.

Teddy Kennedy beat him to it, years ago.

From Fred Phelps? It qualifies as a Tuesday.

Yeah, and we may not like him much, but Bush making a racist gaffe is about as likely as Obama making an Axis of Evil gaffe. Which is to say, not.
