Big bands? What songs did they do?
Tamyra: Minnie the Moocher (and she was fantastic!!)
Justin: Route 66 (good, but not as good as Depeche Mode. ;))
Nikki: Hard Hearted Hannah (and hard to listen to, too.)
Christina: The Glory of Love (mediocre, but sweet)
RJ: I Won’t Dance (He was OK until he forgot the words, then he looked like a complete dork in his all white tux.)
Kelly: Stuff Like That There (Amazing, amazing, amazing.)
All commentary is the sole opinion of Morgainelf, voice critic extraordinare. Watch out Simon.
Oh Yea!? No facts, eh? What about THIS little fact:
The unknown and possibly ficticious person that sends the unconfirmed and possibly totally bogus vote totals to the unofficial site that tracks the rumours and innuendo surrounding the show . . . couldn’t send them this week!! (By the way Slacker my, uh, friend, wants to thank your, uh, 15 year old girl, for the web site!)
Here’s the relevant quote:
“For everyone who emailed in: This week’s telephone votes were not included in this week’s email from our source. She told us that due to circumstances and troubles that were recieved with voting last night, the numbers could not be obtained. We know no more than that.”
Circumstances and troubles, huh? You mean the circumstances and troubles that RJ really had the fewest votes!
(Is that conclusive proof or a conspiracy, or what!)
(Just because I’m paranoid, doesn’t mean that they’re not really after me!)
Like it matters whether she got the boot this week or two or three down the road. The only real question at this point is whether the eventual winner will be Tamyra or Kelly.
BTW, I like Simon, and cannot stand the hosts constant fawning over every single performance as if it were some travesty to actually criticize bad or average performances.
[mini-rant]I’ve never for the life of me been able to understand fans screaming over the performance. Every time I go to a concert (say Billy Joel/Elton John), as soon as the artist begins a new song, the audience gets quiet, then, as soon as they recognize the song, start cheering and screaming over the music; if it’s a Signature Song, the screaming can blot out the song for more than a minute. Dang it, I go to a concert or other live performance to hear the performers. The time to cheer/scream/applaud is at the end of the song, not during it.[/mini-rant]
Um, howbout she sucked? I thought her rendition of “The Glory of Love” was lame: soulless and insipid. I’m not a regular watcher, so I didn’t know that I was supposed to like her, but I thought her performance was the worst one of the evening.
