Aw, I missed this thread somehow until now! I’ve made some decent dinners lately I coulda noted … but tonight was a late night at work so dinner is frozen baked samosas with cilantro dipping sauce, along with a corn dog.
Gotta remember to wash down a multivitamin with it, kind of a crappy dinner. Ah, well. Such is the closing shift.
I had leftovers of @kayaker’s recommended Gobi Manchurian (spicy cauliflower) in his post #122, but with tamarind chutney instead of the sauce in the recipe. Still good, even without being crunchy.
They had smoked salmon on special and I decided against buying it. If I have time I’m going back to the store on Monday (too many people in the store today) and making smoked salmon chowder.
Today is leftover fusilli and cheese. Dessert is cream cheese frosting on a bed of carrot cake.
Had plans to grill a tenderloin, but now we’re celebrating…
… which means, no cooking. So we’re getting Bluegill BLT’s and Door County Cherry Pies, from a local pub that just tonight opened back up for take out.
Tonight I bought one (large) fried chicken breast from the hot deli at the supermarket and sliced it up. I made deep-fried filtration units, mashed potatoes (with cream and butter), (packet) chicken gravy, and green beans. Mrs. L.A. and I had gravy on everything but the green beans. Mrs. L.A. is having white wine, and I’m having red.
Rare hamburgers. One pound of steak, trimmed of all fat and ground. Formed into two big patties, sous vide rare, torch seared. With steak-cut air fryer fries.
