I have only just moved to a place where it seems to snow somewhat irregularly. However, people keep telling me that it doesn’t snow at all after it gets under 20 degrees? This just sounds wacky to me. So what’s the poop?
That IS all poop. Seriously, I think Cecil just had a headline thread (thread on the homepage, for lack of a better term) about it being too cold to snow (or so it seems). - JInx
Don’t eat brown snow.
It’s true that it tends not to snow when it’s really cold. That’s almost 36 years of living in Wisconsin talking.
A Staff Report from bibliophage.
It’s currently +11F (and dropping) and snowing.
I live in Rockford Illinois, northwest of Chicago. It’s been -25 degrees and snowing so hard you couldn’t drive your car. So much for temperture and snowfall.
rande…
temperature… sorry for the spelling
I’ve never seen it snow above 20 degrees…
Celcius.
I haven’t seen any snow in 20 years, but as a kid growing up in Ohio, I seem to recall that the best snow was in the 30 degree area. This would produce big, wet snowflakes that would stick to the ground and was perfect for snowballs and snowmen.
Now, when it got colder, like 10 degrees, the snowflakes were way smaller. The snow was also “dryer” , so snowballs wouldn’t stick together.
