Mint in box huh? Maybe it’s a mummy!
I still haven’t gotten off my lazt butt and done much. I do have a couple of things that are going in. I do have a good excuse though, I’ve been out of the country and just got back last week.

You’re sending him Altoids?
You’ll see.
Well Ed will see and he’ll tell you about it.
It is just a strange item. An item you wonder who would make this product and then who would buy it and display it proudly.
I’m worried about the elephant I sent south a week ago. I hope he didn’t die of heat stroke.
I received my box on Saturday. I loved the scroll. I think the paintings are awesome; 'fraid the beach scene one’s going to be claimed by my mom or sis, though. I really like the night scene. The fuzzy pen is going to be my official pen if I ever get a desk job. Lessee… I’m at work so I know I’m forgetting a ton of stuff. I’m way blanking, but know that the overall feeling was, “Oh, wow, cool!” And I loved unwrapping the stuff… Xmas in July and all that. Thanks a bunch.
mixie, your stuff is headed out this afternoon. Expect it late next week. Sorry for the delay.
It sounds lovely.
Mine is heading out to the post office as soon as I get my lazy butt up out of the computer chair! I’m afraid it pales next to some of the things I’ve been reading about, but then it is a white elephant, right?
I just received it. Thank you so much… I think…
My cat is slowly driving me crazy with those jingly balls you sent and the dogs are chasing each other trying to get sole possession of both balls.
My favorite thing was the dreaded “BUBBLE THINGY” and frankly the balck earrings just scare me.
My elephantee’s package will get sent Monday. Heeheehee
To the person getting mine:
Um, sorry about the dust. And the dead ferret.
Dead ferrets are very dusty.
You’re welcome. snicker
Just so you know, my dog has had one of the basketball squeakies for two months and hasn’t busted the squeaker yet. So you have lots of joy coming!
I bought two pairs of those black earrings so I’d have a back up in case I broke one. I’m no longer the type of person who wears huge black dangly earrings though.
A whole dollar eh? Ain’t I special!
So, I’m waiting for UPS to arrive. I’m tracking my Creative Memories stuff and it is out for delivery and the UPS man is late. I’ve already been fooled a few times by rogue trucks that would not be driving up my street if I was not waiting for a package. I hear a vehicle and am surprised to see the mail man backing into my driveway. This must mean I have a package. What could it be? Why an Elephant…
From Shirley…
Thought one: “Oooh goodie an elephant for me from Shirley! I love Shirley! Woo Woo!”
Thought two: "Oh no - an elephant for me from Shirley! I got Shirley addicted to bookworm and she swore revenge. We even had that nice chat about toys that are great punishment for their parents…
My daughter has decided this package is for her and is bouncing up and down singing to the mail.
With trepidation I carefully slit the packing tape with my trusty kitchen scissors. It doesn’t explode right away so I open the flaps. My elephant contains a treasure trove of toys and 8 white mens handkerchiefs. I’m assuming the hankies are either for my tears as the Jack-In-The-Box drives me slowly insane or for my ears when the whistle threatens to shatter my hearing.
In addition to the above treasures there is The Cat in the Hat comes Back. A cat in the hat doll. Two funky purple guys with spinny hats that she’s sort of figured out but I refuse to help. A sponge bob, a pair of sunglasses, two dwarfs on a see-saw, a soccer guy, a plane, a finger puppet, a little person, a poodle and an easel.
Christmas in July. My daughter is entranced.
She is screwing with my mind, my daughter - not Shirley, she keeps getting the whistle and asking “What is that for?” and I keep telling her that’s one she’ll have to figure out on her own. She then puts the whistle in her mouth and gets ready to blow and I swear she’d wink at me if she could! Then she walks away.
She’d decided the hankies are “Baby’s things” and has refolded them nicely and put them in a pile for him. Now she’s trying to mail my letter.
Thank you very much
A really big Thank You to Alice_In_Wonderland for organizing this. My package came today. Its contents are listed in the other thread. This has been a whole lot of fun.
Tanookie I was very pleased to receive your name as a receipient of my crap. I had the kids help me load up a box and at the last second, I threw in the white hankies as they were my late brothers, I have no use for them and they have no value on ebay ( neither do I, but that’s neither here or there.)
I figured the package would keep your daughter busy, busy, busy for at least 20 seconds.
I sent my box o’ stuff in late June and I hope it arrived safely on my 'tee’s doorstep.
I figure mine will arrive some time this week.
Ooooh, I just got my package today from InternetLegend and it is so great! IL, how did you know that I needed little hair scrunchies and that I have a constant need for candy?
Can’t wait to use the spinning toothbrush; I’ve never had one.
My mom might abscond with that butter dish if I mention it to her…
Nice nightlight too, and for some reason that Southwest jobbie is too cool.
I do enjoy kid stuff as well; purple is my favorite color; bubbles are always welcome; and that record looks intriguing. Thank goodness I kept my turntable.
I’m not sure yet what to do with the length of green velcro stuff but it looks incredibly useful. What/whom shall I tie up with it?
Thanks!! viva happy.
Whoa, forgot to mention that I just happened to be looking at a copy of This Book Will Change Your Life in Vroman’s back in December, and it’s a good thing I didn’t buy it because it showed up in my 'Phant Box as well!
Can you tell whose eleven-year-old helped gather stuff? I’m pleasantly surprised by the post office - I’d written the chocolate off already.
I’m glad you like the book - some of my friends and I spent last winter buying copies of it and sending them off to each other (completely independently of each other), and I ended up with two copies. The butter dish - well, that was just gravy, so to speak.
Well, it’s a lovely butter dish and mom did indeed make off with it, but I am keeping all the other loot. Finally figured out that the Discovery doodad is a series of break-off bracelets. Excellent.
**Edward the Head’s ** box is out for delivery.
He he he he he
My elephantee’s package should have arrived last week, so out of curiosity, I did a search by her user name…
She hasn’t posted on SDMB since the day I sealed the package! I’m afraid it’s like some kind of reverse Pandora’s Box where I cursed her by closing the box full of “treasures”!
