So who is Anakin's father?

Or he could go back in time himself, like Fry from ‘Futurama’, and “do the nasty in the past-y”. Hey, Luke was hot for his twin sister, going back in time to boink grandma isn’t much of a stretch.

I would have found it more interesting if Anakin had a father, and the father told Qui-Gon, “There was no mother…”

I’ve always wondered the same question. After reading this thread, I’m even more confused about how we got from Anakin’s father to a “trilogy of trilogies” rather than who Anakin’s actual father is… :dubious:

So that’s what Lucas was thinking, eh? Drawing a parallel between Anakin and Jesus Christ was probably the stupidest thing Lucas could have done. Is Anakin supposed to be some sort of fallen messiah?

I like my story of Anakin’s origins better :stuck_out_tongue:

My personal theory is that Anakin’s father is Captain Kirk. After all, we know that Kirk got it on with any number of alien babes, and given Lucas’ obsession with heredity, having Kirk as a parent would explain Anakin’s inability to deliver his lines effectively.

Lucas didn’t think of it as drawing a parallel between Anakin and Jesus. He probably thought very little about the fact that Jesus’s story could be fit into the Monomyth. Campbell doubtlessly knew that he was turning the life of Jesus into just another variation of the Monomyth, but Lucas apparently didn’t think about that. As I said, probably the worst thing that ever happened to Lucas was that he read Campbell and tried to fit the Star Wars movies into the Monomyth.

So it is all just Campbell soup really.

Well apparently it wasn’t beat in hard enough seeing as how this thread even exists.

Ok, guys.

I’m spilling the beans here. Anakin’s real father is

Jabba the Hut

I think it’s pretty fair to assume that Anakin’s father is the same species, or at least sub-species. Maybe the midichlorians did it.

Could Anakin’s father have been Palapatine (sp)?

Ok, seeing as how this is a plot point that was dropped from the script, it’s not really a spoiler:

Lucas was toying with the idea of having Palpatine being the one who “manipulated” the midichlorians into creating Anakin. From what I’ve heard, this is in the book, but Lucas decided not to go through with it for the movie.

Therefore, Anakin is simply the result of a virgin birth. The will of the Force. It won’t even be discussed in Episode 3, because it was settled in the first one.

A rewrite from a couple of years ago:

The Empire Stikes Back - Extra Special Edition

Nah. He didn’t need to mindwipe her with the force so she would forget. He just wasn’t a very memorable lay!

As far as I can tell, it was the Nanites (one or more). But maybe Tom Servo is just trying to cover his tracks.

Dooku: This was not the lay you were looking for.

Schmi: No, no it wasn’t.

It all had to do with an accident with a time machine and a contraceptive.

That was brilliant. Sheer brilliance! If only this guy had been writing the prequels.

So now that everyone’s seen it I guess we know:

That it’s Palpatine after all. It played out exactly as Soapbox Monkey said and was still in the script. So now we must all pile on him for spoiling a part of the movie. AHHH!

That’s got to be it!
