So who should play Catwoman?

I can’t tell if you’re joking or not. Angelina Jolie is a horrible actor. And overexposed. And frankly not getting any younger or better-looking.

Can you explain why you think she would make a good catwoman? If it’s just “I want to see her run around in tights” then . She’s done nude before, which is > tights. Fire up Google Images.

I could get behind her too. But only because I wouldn’t have to look at her face.

I say Angelina all the way. And I think she should have to put on a little more muscle for the role and really have a gymnast’s type body with a round, but tight ass.

How about Gabrielle Union?

Eartha Kitt is still awesome, it’s amazing. Bai Ling makes Sean Young look like a paragon of sanity.

So far they have had two villains in every movie, at just the right balance to work. I can see Catwoman as being a rival vigilante who is a cat burglar on the side to bankroll her expenses, while the main villain would be someone else, maybe Riddler, or maybe someone more obscure.

And I could see Charlize Theron in the Catwoman leather. She can do athletic and skintight, as evidenced by Aeon Flux.

Really, though, I don’t expect the big name characters next time. I think he’ll go a less predictable route, and I also think Nolan’s already long ago decided who it will be, perhaps even dropping the clues within the movies already.

The biggest clue, then, would seem to point to Catwoman. When Bruce asks about his new suit’s functionality against dogs, Lucius tells him it should do well against cats, too.

To which bountiful rogues galleries are you unfavorably comparing Batman’s? Seems to me he’s got one of the richest ones in comic books. The Joker, Two Face, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze. Who’s got better villains than that? Superman’s got Lex Luthor and Braniac. The X-Men have Magneto and a bunch of purple robots. The Avengers have a bottle of scotch and NOW…

I’ve got to give this one to Batman.

DC generally maintained that the character with the greatest number of archenemies was the Flash, which I guess meant he didn’t have a single Joker-level standout.

Jim Steranko put it best, regarding Batman’s enemies: “A madder tea party there never was.”

Yes, yes, yes and yes. You nailed it.

The mods can close the thread now.

Seriously, most of the choices people seem to be going by are, “I think she’s pretty and have enjoyed her in roles.”, and not thinking about the ability of that character to play a femme fatale.

Dita von Teese is ideal though I don’t know if she can act.

I chose Hillary Swank and Mary Louise Parker because I think both have the ability to make slitting someone’s throat seem sexy. If you’ve seen Hillary Swank in “Black Dahlia”, and still don’t think she’s hot, well then we’re not even the same species.
**
drm** Naomi Watts is pretty, and even sexy in a way, but not in a Catwoman way. I think she’s a terrible actress, one of the few to make me angry with her performance, but I would never say she’s not pretty or sexy. She just doesn’t have that thing tha Michelle Pfeiffer brought to Catwoman.

Though, I would absolutely LOVE to see Rachel Weiss play a femme fatale role. That would be like sex on toast.

Eva Green! Gorgeous, slinky, mysterious…

Summer Glau
Ziyi Zhang
Definitely somebody trained in dance or martial arts.

One thing to consider is that she’s got to have the chops to hold her own against Christian Bale in and out of the suit. Some of the actresses named might look great in tights, but I don’t think they have the talent to share the screen with Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne and Batman.

Having said that, I gotta go with Charlize Theron on this one. I think she would be amazing.

It’s just my personal opinion, really. I don’t care for The Penguin, Two Face, Poison Ivy, Mr. Freeze, Luthor (sometimes cool but never in the movies) or Braniac. I love the Joker but mostly prefer Marvel villains.

Venom, Doctor Doom, Thanos, Juggernaut, Galactus, etc are all way cooler than the above mentioned, IMO (I’m talking comics here - not all of these characters were portrayed well on screen.)

I just can’t see Charlize Theron as the Catwoman. I actually thought of her, but just couldn’t see it. I liked her in Hancock, and she did get dark and stormy, but I still don’t see her as Catwoman.

Sara Ramirez

IIRC, Ashley Judd was once considered as “the next Catwoman” for a previous installment, but I guess she’s a little too old now for the role, which is a shame, because I would have loved her–from both a theatrical as well as lustful standpoint.

Although I’m not a Michelle Pfieffer fan per se, I have to say I thought she nailed the role head-on and trumping her performance will/would be a challenge. I wish they had gone more into the dynamic between her and Batman instead of that awful Penguin/Cobblepot storyline.

Monica Belucci had me swooning in Matrix Reloaded, so she’s definitely worthy, and I like the Isla Fisher suggestion, too.

Superman = Lex Luthor and Brainiac, as you mentioned, plus Bizarro!Supes, Mister Mxyzptlk, Zod, Darkseid, Doomsday, and Lobo.

X-Men = Magneto and the Sentinels, plus all of Magneto’s splinter groups (the Brotherhood, the Acolytes), the Morlocks, the Hellfire Club, and the Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

The Avengers:

Cap has Baron Zemo, Doctor Faustus, Madame Hydra, the Red Skull, and the Taskmaster. He faces off with Tony against the MODOKs, and Tony’s also got the Iron Monger, the Mandarin, and Ultron to worry about. Wanda and Pietro are honorary X-Men, so see above. Thor has Ares, Loki, and Fenris; the Hulk’s got the Abomination, the Red Hulk, Maestro, and the Hulkbusters; and so on, and so on, depending on who you add to the team.

Honestly, I think the person getting left out here (I wrote ‘shafted’ and decided that seemed very, very wrong) is Wonder Woman. Even the Flashes have the Black Flash, which is cool.

Sorry. She’s already been cast in my head as She-Hulk.

I wouldn’t consider the Morlocks to really be enemies of the X-Men. They’re not exactly allies, but they’ve co-existed on at least a neutral basis and X-Factor (I believe) was actually tasked with caring for Leech after the Marauders decimated the Morlocks’ community.

And as far as Wonder Woman, you have the Cheetah, Ares, and…um…a bunch of Nazis. I think. If you count the TV show.
