I’m wondering if he is basing it on frequency of posting. This thread would have to drive him a bit nuts though with all the ignores.

With all the people he’s blocked (and some of the best, like thee and me ;)), I’d think virtually any thread would drive him nuts.

Been here since God was a buck private and I don’t remember a single post of his. Maybe he doesn’t understand that the ignore list doesn’t prevent others from seeing him. Cloak of darkness and shit.
I kept searching Enderw24’s list for Allard Lowenstein, Ed Guthman, Paul Newman, Leonard Woodcock, and the Black Panthers, but no go.
I don’t have the foggiest idea about him either. I did a search to see if I could find out where we clashed and the only time the two of us show up is here.

Hey, wait…maybe he changed his user name and he’s really someone all of know as someone else. One of these days, if I can be arsed, I’ll look up some of his old posts and see what I can find out.
Still, it’s a puzzlement. He’s got lefties, righties and wouldn’t-hurt-a-flyzies all lumped in together. He’s even got Qadgop and Wordman in there. Maybe he’s just jealous of intelligent posters. 
This was exactly the same for me. Why couldn’t you just scroll past someone? But then there was this one poster that just a couple weeks ago I realized I had never read anything but religious drivel from. There are one or two other people who talk about religion a bunch, but this one poster talked about nothing else, at the most inappropriate times.
My board reading has been so much more pleasant since I realized that I never wanted to read a single word from this poster again.
(I see all of his/her posts anyway. They’re so monumentally stupid that someone inevitably quotes them two posts down to talk about how stupid they are.)
I’ve seen her around. I posted in many of her threads and she has replied to me at times. In fact I offered to send her some Heinlein books years ago as did **Silenus **I think. I also see her in Daily Show threads. I don’t remember pissing her off but anything is possible.
ETA to SA: I don’t think she has changed her username. I remember her from around the time I joined and I had a different username. I don’t think she was serious with this but I have been wrong before and I will be wrong many more times.

I thought you wanted ginger-snaps for PIE purposes, for which store-bought would be adequate. We are on the Dope, after all. I will go ahead and 'port you a couple dozen home-made ones, but it’ll take longer for obvious reasons.

I tried it, twice, just as a way of symbolzing my anger and frustration at these two people, and then I felt pretty silly. It doesn’t really make their posts disappear, anyway. It just hides them with a little link that says “view this post”, which, contrary to the ignore list’s intentions, pretty much guarantees I’m going to read it!
When I stopped modding I experimented with the Ignore feature out of pure curiosity. (Ooooh, a new button! Cheap thrills.) I picked a prolific poster (whom I quite like) just to see fast results.
Drove. Me. Frickin’. Nuts. Huge, weird gaps in the conversation cropped up, and other posts were rendered somewhat meaningless in response to this stupid vacuum. Turned that sucker right back off within a few hours.
There are a very few posters I just don’t bother reading. They’re either too stupid or utterly predictable to bother with. Read it all waaayyy to many times before. It’s quite easy to just scroll past them. Oddly enough, it’s usually very easy to stay with the conversation too.
Wow, that was quick! (Note to self, threatening Skald with ignore makes him give you good stuff. Keep that in mind the next time you need new shoes.)
