I had to make sure I wasn’t overreacting. I just looked at it again, (I have DVR) and it was actually worse than I remembered.
The only time Benji got to actually speak and say thank you was DURING THE CREDITS! So the winner of the whole shebang gets no mike-time at all other than a single sentence of thanks. All that hard work for less than 10 seconds worth of time and it’s not even single-spotlight. Arrrgh! No chance to thank his friends, his partners, his folks, etc. Nothing. Yet they give the judges, especially that Mia woman, a ton of time to put in their last words about what they thought (when they’ve already made clear their positions in earlier sessions, and don’t we as the audience already know how good the finalists are that we don’t need the panel to tell us again!)
I miss allison so much. I remembered how good she was last night, she def. deserved to be there longer than Donyelle, but I must say that Donyelle’s exit speech was priceless.
I would have liked either of the two to win, but I’m sure that Mia will hire Travis anyway for the show, she already said that two weeks ago.
Benji was my favorite from the first time he stepped on stage with Donyelle, and it was great to see him win, I was yelling like a football fan as well.
I also liked the performances from Ciera and Ferg, I recently went to see Step Up b/c this summer I have become so obsessed with dance…its silly. All b/c of this damn show, the movie was great and I’m so glad to see all of the tie ins between these two.
Nahh…last night’s lipsynching was much better than someone (who’s name escapes me) who was on 4 or 5 weeks ago. She was astoundingly disinterested in even appearing to be singing with the music.
I’m a fan of both this show and American Idol…and I can’t help but think how much better AI would be if its judges were more like SYTYCD’s. You know, actually give some constructive criticism of the performance, without engaging in forced banter with each other and with the host. One can only dream.
She probably didn’t choose it herself. Let’s blame it on. . . The Stylist!!! (At least it wasn’t strapless. I always worried that gravity would defeat her strapless numbers.)
No, (at least I don’t think so). Mia said she would hire Travis to work with her right now. I assumed she meant as an assistant since we saw assistants with every choreographer on SYTYCD, except maybe Shane Sparks.
No, you may be right. The fact that Mia did the choreography doesn’t mean she’s in charge of the on-going hiring of dancers – and there’s likely to be some turn over due to injuries/finding better jobs/whatever.
BTW, now that I’ve watched the whole finale (I love my DVR) I see that Natalie and Dmitry are a couple? Didn’t see that coming. When they said that they would reveal a couple who had spark off camera, I thought for sure they were going to say Allison and Travis.
