Been sober since I got up this morning, bout 15 hours now. Me and my girlfriends are planning to go to a meeting tonight, I’m plaqnning to be sober when I got to bed tonight. I’m looking at the tickets I got 17 years ago and the letters from the lawyers about the lawsuits, me and my girlfriend found them yesterday. I had the main ticket, I raded my license for, laminated about two years ago. (17 years, I miss beer)
Another one chiming in here, sober for 28 years now, married to a guy sober 21 years. Congrats to all you guys just starting out – there’s always ups and downs in life, but they’re a whole lot easier to deal with sober than drunk! ODAAT has worked for me all this time, and I see no reason to change what I’m doing. In fact, I was reminiscing this morning with some friends from around the country about our experiences at the every-five-years AA International Convention in San Diego in 1995. (2005 it’s in Toronto, and if you want to see something amazing? Try 50,000+ sober people in one giant meeting!)
The hardest thing about AA for me was walking in the door the first time.
