SoCal Dopefest - Spring 2008

Oh, by the way, last call for anyone from the SGV who may need a ride.

You guys are all gonna look like such dorks.

Take lots of pics!

So, what reservation name should we ask for when we arrive? Cecil Adams?

I expect I’ll be able to make it. 90% sure.

I’m still in. Might be a bit late, but will definitely make it.

I’m in! And my girlfriend! I think!

I’m working on my tin-foil hat right now.

Either that, or look for Silenus’s shirt.

I think I’m going to go with electric green this time.

I’ll be doing a headcount tonight and I’ll call for reservations on Friday. Reservations will be made under the name “Cecil Adams”.

I don’t know how long I’ll be able to stay, but I’ll be there, at least for a while!

I’m afraid the prognosis for my appearance may be in some doubt. Arnold Winkelried, I still have your key to the city in my car, just in case.

I just scrolled and scrolled and managed to figure out the shindig is the 27th, but where/when is it? Maybe a repeat for those of us late to the thread who can’t find it 4 pages of remarks about squids and hawaiian shirts?

Sunday, 1PM, at the Yard House in Costa Mesa.

Southern California Dopefest
Date: Sunday 27 April 2008
Time: 13:00 (1:00 PM)
Place: Yard House, Costa Mesa
1875 Newport Boulevard, Costa Mesa, California 92627 (949) 642-0090

Google Map to location

Description of meeting place:
The Yard House is an upscale-casual eatery known for its extensive menu, classic rock music, and world’s largest selection of draft beer. From classic lagers to more obscure ales and stouts there’s a draft beer flavor for everyone. Each Yard House location features a transparent keg room containing more than 600 barrels, some 1,000 gallons of beer, and an endless fleet of tap handles - 130 to 250 - depending on the location. The menu of American cuisine includes an impressive selection of appetizers, salads, pastas, sandwiches, individual-size pizzas, seafood, steaks, ribs and chops. Late-night dining is available, and each restaurant can accommodate groups for large parties. For pint-size guests the kid’s klub includes a 12 page activity book, fresh to order menu items and a kustom kooler. The Yard House plays classic rock and roll on its state of the art sound system while an abundance of flat screens showcase the day’s sports and special events.

Just to keep things interesting, the wife and I are going to offer as door prizes at this Dopefest: a jar of our special Cumin-Cured olives, a jar of bourbon-infused cherries, and a bottle of whiskey from our collection. Each attendee gets a number, and the drawing will be held at the end of the Fest.

Additional numbers will be made available on a first-come, largest bribe basis.

You had better be there! You are the master of the city of Orange. We want a Master of the City to be present, that will help us get our drinks faster.

Antinor01, Silver Tyger Girl, check your PMs.
Is there anyone else from the San Fernando Valley or along the 405 north of Costa Mesa that needs a ride?
ETA: With Silenus there do you think that a 1000 gallons of beer will be enough?

Read the bolded part again. 600 barrels and 1,000 gallons of beer? That is less than 2 gallons per barrel. WTF? Are they brewing in home brewing kits? :dubious:

They either left out a 9, or they really got reamed by their distributor!

I didn’t see a ticket in my mailbox.
I’m…disappointed in you guys.

900 barrels?
1,900 gallons?, 1,009 gallons?
