Many years ago, I saw a really cool novelty: it was a hollowed out bean, approximately the size of a pinto or kidney bean. This bean had a little plug to keep it closed and inside were three (I think) tiny, tiny carvings. I remember one was an elephant. I seem to remember that it was a prize for subscribing to some magazine in school. Can anyone tell me about this, where I could get one or even if you remember it at all? I haven’t been able to find anyone who has ever heard of this. Am I hallucinating?
I remember having one of those as a child. It was a reddish brown bean shape, with a little carved ivory elephant inside. I believe it was given to me by my grandmother, and has unfortunately long since disappeared into my own personal black hole.
thanks, Bookkeeper, at least I now know my memory on this is trustworthy. Does anyone know where to get one of these? I think it was a “lucky” piece. Thanks in advance!
