Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Well, caffienated.
I have decided that I will go ahead with havin’ friends over tomorrow night for dindin. It’ll be nice to talk and laugh with people after the funeral tomorrow. Besides I don’t get to see two of the guests often as they live in Ohio and are at the other friends’ house (a friend’s sister and bil, the ones from Ohio that is) for a few days. They are on their annual migration from Ohio to Miami Beach for the Winter. So, it will be nice to see Archie and Jackie. Besides, they crack me up, bein’ as they are a couple of clowns.
No caffeine for me, grr. I have to go for my checkup, and I need to be fasting for blood draws. Grr. On the upside, I’ll be going to Waffle House for breakfast after that!
I might swing by this grocery store, where my favorite morning radio show is on site. They are having a contest to see how many helium balloons it will take to lift a 20 pound frozen turkey! I entered my guess on their website.
There’s a problem I’ve had since I was little, and it’s that I find it very difficult to do things I disagree with / view as damaging for the organization, such as teaching people that it’s OK to disregard any error messages and to enter data months after it was generated.
Anybody know a cure for that? “Sit back and think of the mortgage” works, but not too well.
Ottlite is one of the top-line brands of full-spectrum lights. They can get silly expensive, even at Amazon.
I don’t know much about using them as a treatment for SAD, but you can find full-spectrum lamps for a lot less. We’ve got a fold-up version from one of the big-box office supply stores for about $20.
Meanwhile, I’ve entered the 21st century quite grudgingly. Does anyone make a “Facebook for Adults” book? I was at least smart enough to create a new email address just for FB to keep stuff corralled in my inbox, but I was not prepared for the onslaught of friend requests, friend recommendations, pokes, wall notes, dead bees (???) and other whatnot.
Seriously, someone sent me a virtual dead bee.
Oh well. Off to do some baking, and then get ready for the last weekend of Faire.
Taters hang in there we will listen anytime swampy so sorry to hear that
rebo…mr ems is very good but I aint loaning him out
I made it home last night and mr ems and I ended up having a huge fight over nothing as we were both tired and cranky and pissed off and he ended up sleeping in the other room. I apologised this morning and we are fine. There will be some appreciating later I am pretty sure. Urgh all this travel is not good for a marriage.
Weekend plans include finishing up Christmas shopping. Painting the last 2 doors I didn’t get finished last week and the trim in the little bedroom and taping reciepts to 8X11 paper so I can do my expenses from the crazy travel month I have had.
Thanks for the thoughts and hugs. And I’m going to forward some of them on to **Taters **who sounds like she needs them more than I do right now.
Things got better after my Wednesday afternoon off. Yesterday was good busy, and I felt like I actually accomplished stuff. Now today I’m lacking motivation, but otherwise, it’s not a bad day.
I’m trying to figure out what to cook while my parents are here Tues-Fri. And what exactly we want for T-day. KT’s family usually has pumpkin cheesecake for dessert, but now he’s saying that’s too heavy. So I need a new dessert idea. But not pie because I. Do. Not. Make. Pie.
Morning, everybody! Well, afternoon for those of you in Eastern time. We’re at the oncology clinic: hubby is receiving his first chemo drug and is sound asleep. I’m sitting here playing and listening to him snore. He’s so cute!
In just a bit, my daughter and I will head to the credit union to get her damn money back. She came down earlier than I expected, so I wasn’t ready.
I also bought her a ticket for a matinee showing of the new Harry Potter tomorrow. She was just going to stop by the box office, but I just went on line and bought it for her. She could use a little cheering up.
After we do battle with the CU, I need to come home and do some serious deep cleaning around here. Apparently, we’re having a houseful over tomorrow night.
Rebo be sure to yell out, “As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly!” That episode of WKRP In Cincinatti or however Cincinatti is spelled, has always made and will always make me fall over laughin’.
Today I have cleaned two Dollar General Stores out of chicken broth. It was a steal at three cans for a dollah! OYKW expressed surprise that I stopped after only two stores. Smart ass. Of course as y’all know I consider smart assedness to be a good quality.
Dindin shall be pizza and sallit cause, again. as y’all know, if one eats a green sallit with one’s pizza that makes it a healthy meal. It’s a rule.
Recliner. And it’s wreaking havoc on his back. The car wreck really aggravated it.
I have that episode here with me on my laptop. I may watch it later when hubby wakes up. He’s snoring right now. I would pull out my headphones, but I like listening to him. He may need cheering up once he comes around from the Rituxan.
Sorry about your friend Swampy, one of the worst parts of living to our age is watching our friends die. I hate it.
Yay for Dad Herbs.

Hope you butt gets better Bobbio.
Hope that covers it.
Wifey got a text from #3GrandDaughter last night asking if someone was available to take a Suburban full of 13-year-old girls to the Harry Potter matinee today.
Unfortunately, I had to work this afternoon. so she’s elected.
TGIF! I didn’t think this week would ever end. But it has, so yay!
Daughter is going to have dinner and spend the night with some friends (I believe adult beverages will be served) and she’s taking Cozmo with her, so **FCD **and I will have a pug-free night.
Speaking of which, where has **Puggy **been? And rigs, for that matter?
Anyway, I’m taking my sweetie out to dinner to one of our favorite, if $$$ places, just because. He plans to spend much of the weekend futzing in the garage, and I intend to get the first big round of mulch/vac done. And laundry. And a lot of knitting. And I’ll probably make Weds a short day so’s I can get some pies baked and some eggs deviled.
I’d been wondering about rigs too. I hadn’t realized that pugs was missing. And **Haze **hasn’t been around this week, has she? And where’s **sticky **this week?
Thanks for the info, gotti. It may be worth $20 to try one of the cheap type just to see if they work. And then if not, go for one of the expensive ones.
My parents are coming on Tuesday for Thanksgiving, and Mom’s already all worried about the trip. Ugh. She really needs to look into anxiety treatment. Mom and I are really close so I hate that we don’t see them more, but she’s always so stressed when they come here that it’s hard to enjoy the visit. ::sigh::
There was a huuuuuuuuuuuge crowd at the visitation last night, as expected. Sharon and her daughters seemed to be holdin’ up fairly well. Of course the tough thing is it’s likely to really hit home in a couple of days after the funeral this afternoon. At least that’s always been my experience. Fortunately they have a vas amount of support among family and friends to rely on. This is goin’ to be a really sad funeral but also kind of upbeat because well, that’s Ron. What will be really strange and weird for me will be next St. Patrick’s Day when we’re in the kitchen preparin’ for our annual feast. Ron and I are the ones who have perfected the “St. Patrick’s, It’s Irish Because We Say So, Stew” over the years. I have a feelin’ that there will be many Guiness’s raised in his memory. He loved that stuff!
In other news, there was cheesecake bakeage at da cave last night. It will be dessert tonight when folks come over. Also, the lasagna rollups are made and just need to be sprinkled with grated parmesan and put in the oven so the cheese gets all melty and the rollups get all warmed up. Sallit is also made. The only thing to ready will be the garlic bread which is easy enough.
MOOOOOOM Cozmo is a cutie!
MMMMMMM’s glad y’all made up. I trust appreciation has been shown.
Hope everything went well at the CU Taters.
Everybody else, yays, boos, hugs, trouts, chitlins, wedgies, noogies, how you doin’s as needed.
Puggy is on FB frequently; I think she mentioned somewhere along the way that she’s been spending more time over there.
rigs stopped by a while back and said she couldn’t keep up with so many message boards, so she’s pretty much just on GB and FB.
Harry Potter was really good (if you like the books, anyway). I think they did a much better job with this one than the last several. I thought they put just enough light touches in to keep it from being depressing. Good lead-in to the last movie.
Gotta get up to go to the park to work on holiday decorations. We don’t decorate till December 2, but have to have things put together before then.
