Somebody set off a bomb in a Target Womens' Room

Yes, it did. However, the text D’Anconia included in a quote box with Merneith’s name was not something she said, it’s something from the article that she’s quoting. By formatting as he did, D’Anconia appears to be attributing those specific words to Merneith, which puts him in violation of our rules regarding the quote function.

To make the issue more obvious, I’ve edited my mod note to include the actual mis-quote.

I apologize for the quoting error. It wasn’t intentional.

Bullshit. Can you explain the later post I quoted?

Oh I see where he did directly say that it was a claim made by the OP.

My mistake.

I am outraged, outraged I tell you, that so many participants here bombed their basic reading abilities worse than a transgender male trying to use a urinal. Or so WGN reports.

Nice try.

When you quote someone’s OP, it does not automatically include the stuff they include in quote tags. You had to VERY DELIBERATELY cut and paste that particular quote from the magazine, and then VERY DELIBERATELY affix Merneith’s name to it.

It could not have been done unintentionally. You know it, and so does everyone else.

It was completely unintentional. Sorry for the misquote. Jeez.

Getting back to the OP, the fact that they picked someone up so quickly suggests to me that the person of interest is a current or former employee known to be disgruntled.

That doesn’t say anything about motivation – she might have been disgruntled about the restroom policy. But presumably there’s a history behind her attitudes that will be easy to discern.

Bull fucking shit.

you see that little arrow that’s at the end of the name whenever we quote someone? That is missing from your little “misquote” in post #18. That means you had to intentionally cut and paste the quote from the article, and then stick Merneith’s name on it.

Intentionally.

That’s my regular Target - I grew up in Evanston, and it’s on the way to my mom’s place. I was there just a few days ago.

I am curious to see whether the Evanston cops can come up with anything useful. Let’s just say this is not the sort of thing they’re used to dealing with. When I was growing up, my main contact with Evanston cops was when they would kick us out of the park for playing Hacky-Sack after dark. Because Evanston does have a gang problem and a drug problem, but they were worried about the choir and the math team playing Hacky-Sack.

Then according to The D’Anconia Rule, you are allowed to post in this thread.
Proceed and feel free to be as outraged as you want.

See, right wing terrorists are the real threat.

All of you idiots. Every time you respond to [del]Brian[/del]D’anconia, you are licking his penis. If you are tempted to respond to him, remember that is what you are doing. If you choose to respond anyway, remember to work the balls.

Does that involve a death grip, yank ‘n’ twist?

Sadly, no. You can’t do that over the internet.

I’m working on it.

It’s actually funny watching him because he thinks he’s being clever and yet even Stevie Wonder can see what he’s up to.

I wonder: If all right-wing terrorism were collated under a single heading like people do with Islamic terrorism, all of the gay-bashing and trans-bashing and lynchings and so on collected into a single big list, which group, the Christian terrorists or the Muslim terrorists, would have a bigger body count?

In the US, it’s the Christians, hands-down, obviously. The big, flashy 9/11 shit doesn’t even compare to the decades-long paramilitary war the KKK waged, and that’s on top of Oklahoma City, abortion clinic bombings, violence against gay and trans people, and a lot of other stuff that’s usually just considered ‘crime’ as opposed to being seen as part of a larger, and quite violent, movement. Globally, who knows.

Oh, nevermind. I thought this topic was going to be about the bombing. Instead it’s another thread that D’Anconia has hijacked based on posting and many posters being unable to ignore him.
No, I don’t feel bad about adding to it, the topic is already ruined. It has been D’Anconia-ziced, no longer about the OP.
