Something good to share

I got the official hiring offer for my new job, starting Sept. 1.

My application for graduation was approved (pending acceptance of my thesis!) and I went and bought my cap, gown, hood, tassel, curly elf shoes, etc.

My SO is coming home for the weekend!

I hope not. I’ve seen the kind of ‘squishes’ she fills the diapers with.

When I get a pic, I’m going to put one on my homepage, there’s a link at the bottom of the post. Don’t have any pix of her yet, though.

The paperwork’s supposed to be done next week to get our house sold and we’ll move into the new one Saturday. I’ve recruited a number of friends to help us move, one of which is a sometimes lurker at the SDMB and frequenter of straightdope.com. We’re going to share a couple of Molson’s in honor of Wally.

I got the results back from the hospital today: It’s not a tumor. Whew! My doc had told me that it was probably harmless when I got my checkup two weeks ago, but it’s nice to have it confirmed.

I’m healthy and happy. I have a lovely, smart GF. I have good friends.

Lately, ALL of my days have been good.
P.S. Welcome back, Kelli! I missed ya.

Congrats to Demo and Psycat. I wish you both a lifetime of happyness.

And congratulations to you!

Congrats Brat…an Uncle and a couple of bux!!!

You know…you’re buying the next couple of rounds at Coldy’s bar eh?

I’ll have a rum’n coke, and a pair of speedo’s, one size too small please.

Ditto.

I posted this on Baloo’s thread, too, but I am just so, uh, what’s the opposite of hopeless and miserable? Oh, yeah! Hopeful and not miserable!

I interviewed for the job of my dreams yesterday. It’s as close to “what I have been working toward for 25 years” as I could get without actually planning my career.

And my wife and I were made official members of our new church tonight. I’m still an agnostic who keeps his mouth shut, but the people are SO NICE and the whole thing is what my wife has been looking for for years, so she’s overjoyed. If mama’s happy, everybody’s happy.

Babypony #2 (due first week in Aug) has now moved out of his breech position. Glad that kid decided to straighten up and fly right.

This offsets Kidpony #1 getting into my work table in the garage (my fault entirely) and painting our Jack Russell terrier a neat shade of sea green. Since it was enamel based paint, this cost me a trip to the vet.

To quote Rodney Dangerfield, “Now I know why tigers eat their young.”

Congratulations, everybody! It does me good to see so much happiness in this world.

Um, well you know my bad news already, but other than that I’m healthy, got a great husband and son, and a nice apartment in a wonderful city. My Nicholas turns five next Saturday, which is a little miracle in itself, since his pregnancy and delivery were very touch and go.

I’ve said it tons, but once again, thanks everybody for their support this week. It’s good to have all of you in my life.

I was walking through downtown Dublin last weekend and bumped into a dear old friend of mine from San Francisco! Turns out he was in town for a few days (on a detour from his visit home to Belfast) and hadn’t been able to get my phone number from anyone in SF. He was one of the first people I met when I moved to SF in 1996 and is truly a lovely person, and even though I am quite accustomed to running into people I know in strange places (I have an amazing knack for that) I was still gobsmacked to see him. Of course we went out for pints, and had a great time.
