Anybody catch last Sunday’s “X-Files”? I’m trying to find out the artist and name of the song played when Scully was alone in her apartment.
I did some digging and from what I can tell the song is “The Sky is Broken” by Moby. It was used throughout the episonde, not just in the scene you mention.

So it was used twice–close to the beginning and then later in the episode?
Yes. The song was first used in the beginning when Mulder had the song on his little boom box. It seems to have gotten stuck in Scully’s head as we hear it later on in the episode, most tellingly in Scully’s dream.

Thanks, Trion!
Glad to help.

Did anyone notice that Scully had a brand new Mac in her apartment? Hee!

THe song recurs throughout the episode. Even in the dialogue. Mulder’s line ‘Speak to me Scully’ occurs right alongside the lyric ‘Speak to me darling’ in the song still playing in the background.
I managed to ‘out’ a couple of closet x-philes by playing that CD at the office the next day.

did any one notice that Gillian Anderson also wrote and directed Sunday’s episode?
(that episode rocked!)
I’m happy to raise my hand as a fellow X phile
When he was ready, it was already far too late, to go back.
There will never be another.
He is lost to me, as surely as if he had died.

to remember what went wrong.
