To be awoken gently, the lovely On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring, by Delius.
I highly recommend John Cage’s 4’33".
Wagner’s The Ride of the Valkyries, especially if you’ve seen Apocalypse Now.
For old school rap, KRS-One’s I Can’t Wake Up would be fun in a reversing kind of way.
I found the Fight Song of the Brunnen-G very effective.
Anything by Phillip Glass.
I suppose it depends how quickly you need to get up.
How about Wagner’s *Ride of the Valkyries *?
I have a tape player alarm clock that I bought for the specific purpose of waking up to “Wake Up, it’s 1984” by Oingo Boingo. I haven’t been remembering to do that for awhile, but the song starts like this:
Wake up! Won’t you listen to me?
Wake up! Won’t you listen to me?
Wake up! Won’t you listen to me?
Won’t you listen to me?
WON’T YOU LISTEN TO ME???
Effective at getting me up and out of bed.
