Sons of Tucson cancelled.

It’s not like this is a surprise. It wasn’t all that bad, but it wasn’t all that good either. On the bright side we don’t have to wait until fall for new episodes of American Dad!. And this Sunday is the crossover ep of Family Guy where Stan & Francine visit Quahog.

I think the main reason for this show getting the can was that the kids weren’t all that good. The fake father guy is funny, the kids not so much.

The show had potential, and yeah Taylor Labine should have a promising career ahead of him, if nothing else but playing the “poor man’s Jack Black.” The rest of the show seemed like they were playing “What would happen if the boys from Malcolm in the Middle didn’t have Lois around?” (Smart middle son, carefree and not so bright older son, and eccentric youngest) I guess you could even use Ron as the stand in for Francis.

I was watching it out of some hometown loyalty to Tucson, but it wasn’t going well. It comes as no surprise that it’s history.

Wait, already? It seems like only yesterday I was seeing commercials about its premier.

I think there have been 3 episodes so far?

Jesus. Aren’t there highly paid executives who should be able to sniff out shit like this?

Hey, I was watching that!

It had a good premise, I thought, and was funny at times. However, there apparently weren’t enough of those times.

Oh well, c’est la vie.

The show to me got progressively uninteresting after the first episode. I like the funny Taylor Labine can bring, but the kids being unfunny pretty much made me lose interest. I flip this on when Celebrity Apprentice goes on commercial and if this show can’t maintain my interest to the not so good Celebrity Apprentice then it’ll get cancelled fast.

You ppl watch this show, yet don’t know it’s Tyler Labine?

I sorta caught parts of one episode, and didn’t foresee a long life for it.

What makes you say that, Oslo? Tyler Labine was mentioned in the third post.

Actually Taylor Labine was mentioned in posts 3 and 9.

Not surprised by the cancellation. I guess the writers were hoping to hang on like 'Til Death did. I have no idea how that got green-lit, let alone lasted more than a season.

Finally!

I’m not the type of viewere to insist that all the characters on a show be “likeable”, but goddamn I hate the shit out of everyone on that show.

:smack: I actually even went and looked it up to make sure I had his last name right.

I didn’t even make it five minutes into the premiere, total and utter “meh”, generic, boring, and tedious, plus the kids were just plain annoying

Yeah, the show wasn’t great. It would have been better though, if Tyler’s character was still Sock from Reaper, after moving to Tuscon.

I liked looking at the teacher, and the youngest kids had a couple clever lines.

I figured it wasn’t going to last long because Fox isn’t really a place for live action sitcoms anymore. I think the network just green lit the pilot because it’s a mid season replacement and you can start a sitcom a lot quicker and cheaper than you can start an animated program.

If it was a critical darling like Arrested Development then they’d keep it around for awhile, but Tucson wasn’t. And Fox’s lineup is pretty strong, so there wasn’t even room for it to replace anything.

They should’ve just called it Fake Dad

I watched an episode once because I couldn’t find the remote and I was in the midst of a rollicking good game of Uno on Facebook.

Can’t say I liked it.

In case anyone’s interested I just discovered that the summer burn off of the remaining episodes starts tonight at 7:30.
