Because in two weeks, we will be closer to Easter. I don’t think I’d make it through Lent if I had to resist Girl Scout Cookies as well as the dish of candy at the receptionist’s desk.
For a substitue Thin Mint fix once you run out (or to tide you over), try the Hersey’s Cookies, the York Peppermint Patty ones. Not quite like a Thin Mint, but pretty close.
<< I keep hitting the escape key, but I’m still here! >>
I’ve always bought the cookies, up until this year. They went up to $4 a box! That is outrageous.
Of course, they always end up selling them outside of the grocery stores, so if I break down I can always get my fix- I like the peanut-butter sandwich ones. With a big glass of milk, mmmmm.
There must be some regional timing differences - mine already came and went*. Only time of year that I eat cookies.
*[sub]For the most part; I’m holdin’ out a box of Peanut Butter Patties.[/sub]
My roommate bought four boxes of cookies to support the neighborhood, and he doesn’t even have a big sweet tooth! So now I can share Thin Mints, Animal Shortbreads, Caramel Coconut (I think these used to be called Samoas, which were my favorites), and new Strawberry Pinatas! Woo hoo!
Wow, the prices really must vary regionally. I only paid $3 a box for my fix. They came in this morning (well, yesterday after I left work.)
2 boxes of Samoas (my faves)
2 boxes of Thin Mints
2 boxes of Tagalongs
1 box of All Abouts
1 box of (well, it was the lemon cookie ones, but I helped out a cow-orker & traded for a box of Trefoils.)
I’m set for the duration. Mmmmmm, frozen Thin Mints.
I know people sell them on Ebay…don’t know how safe that is, though. The Girl Scouts have a website that I am entirely too lazy to look up, I’m sure they have a contact page. I assure you there are Girl Scouts somewhere around you.
silenus You…you…YOU BASTARD!!!
Honestly, the Peanut butter patty thing- whatever it’s called- so good. Orgasmically good. I would give up sex for a month if I could have as many of these cookies as I wanted- for free. I completely agree that $4 a box is a lot. I’m still buying 6.
