Sopranos 4/4

I took that as “I’d be surprised if you HAD exploits.”, the older experienced man to his son, whom he may even be discounting as more naive than he (AJ) is. Look at Tony’s “Go do your homework.” attitude, dismissing him like a child. AJ is more of an age where you say “We need a little privacy. Take a couple of slices and go up to your room.”

Plus, as far as kink, AJ was Gothed up at the time, wasn’t he? Shaved eyebrows, etc. A lot of people would connect that with kink.

Also note if Christopher is found dead right after bursting into a public place with a gun, he is going to bring down a lot of heat on Tony. If I were Tony, and wanted him dead, he ODs in his apartment one night - he has the rehab stay to show substance abuse.

FTR, Meadow is much cuter than Adrianna or Carmela. Adrianna comes off way too trampy, and her face, as noted, is far from classically beautiful. Hot bod, though.

Ade is a hot body. Her face fluctuates between hot, weird, and downright scary. Does she have a scar or something?

Here’s something that’s been bugging me since the previous episode. Carm sends AJ to live with Tony. So why, exactly, is Carm still living in the main house? Last week when I was watching it for the first time, the moment she told Tony to take AJ, my immediate reaction from Tony’s POV was “then get outta my house!” Especially since she had just demanded he upgrade her entertainment center. What am I missing?

Indeed! Meadow is, by far, the hottest on the show.

Discipline problem. You see last week? AJ dropped a F-you on her. She feels she can’t control him, and Tony won’t back her up (that staying in Manhattan and lying about being with Meadow, Tony blew off as no big thing) She basically said you take him. And the upgrade was a replacement for the equipment she had that Tony took.

And another thing. Christopher was so quick to call Tony down in front of everyone by telling them “Everyone knows you were going to score some coke” “You lied”. Wasn’t it just last season that Christopher sat on Ade’s dog and killed her just because he was all messed up shooting drugs through his foot? If I had been Ade I sure would have been bringing that shit up as he was throwing me out the door.

I would hope so. She was 15 years younger than she is now.

E3

I don’t think Christopher’s complaint was that Ade was doing drugs per se. It was more the implication of the two of them, going together to score drugs, and then maybe to… and it’s the ellipsis that kills Christopher, who knows what coke does to people’s inhibitions.

I like the Sopranos and I’ve watched it all along, but does it bother anyone else that a woman gets nauseatingly assaulted almost every episode this season? :frowning: It’s really beginning to outweigh my enjoyment of the show. Just wondering…

Probably, if she chose to think about it. If Adriana had fucked Tony, nobody knew about it, and Chris somehow found out about it, I don’t think he would have had nearly the meltdown that he had. But the fact that everyone was talking about it, making Chris a laughing stock–whether it happened or not–made it far, far worse.

It’s just like Carmela’s response to Tony’s Russian mistress calling her up. She knew that Tony was banging anything he could get his hands on–she would have to be an idiot not to see that. Even if she only suspected it, it wouldn’t have been that hard to confirm it with a little effort. But instead, she chose not to confirm it, so she could continue to deny it. When she found the fingernail, it became difficult to deny, but she managed to keep up the appearance, anyway. When the girl called up and said, “I used to fuck your husband,” there was no way to deny it anymore.

So it isn’t about suspecting or even knowing about the infidelity–it’s about having to deal with it.

I loved this episode, though I was cringing at the early scenes between Tony and Ade–I was thinking that the season didn’t need more drama, for God’s sake. I like where they went with it, though–it was perfect. My prediction is that Christopher will find out about Ade and the FBI soon, and knowing what thin ice he’s on with Tony, the WPP will look like a good option.

I thought Tony’s “I might as well have fucked her” was great. He’s had several instances of “doing the right thing” in the last couple of episodes–Adriana, dealing with Feech, dealing with Christopher. If each of these things comes back to bite him in the ass, as the first has and the other two probably will, that’s not going to do much for his desire to do the right thing.

I’m still wondering where they’re going to fit Tony B in. He seems to be a voice of reason. Being away for so long has given him a different perspective on life from the rest of the guys, and in times of potential turmoil, that would probably be extremely useful to the organization, especially if Tony S starts to lose it.

A really uninteresting aside–the FBI agent asked if any of Chris’s calls had come from the 336 area code. I said, “Wait a minute–that’s my area code.” Sure enough, Chris was coming down to North Carolina for some cigarette hustling.

I disagree. Remember, Ade was VERY pissed off when Danielle/Deborah revealed that she was a Fed and that their friendship was a sham. It was more like Ade saying “She’s dead to me,” a la Tony & his mom. And it’s not likely that Tony would run across her or recognize her if he did; he only saw her once in her tarted-up, undercover “Jersey Girl” persona, and she does look very different in a suit & tie. (Has she even been on the show recently?)

As for Tony’s cancer…relax, it was just a squarca…squaraco…sqaurka…umm the non-lethal kind. It’s got him paranoid about “irregular around the margins”, but that’s as far as it will go.

Yes, we even saw her in the “grapevine” montage in this episode, and also in the FBI office earlier in the season, the one where we saw Raymond Curto transcribing his wire.

That actress (Lola Glaudini) was also on The Handler while it lasted.

Wasn’t she the one who called up the other agent at the end of the “telephone game” sequence and said, “Guess who went down on Tony Soprano?”

That’s actually a funny point.

It was Squamous cell which is pronounced “SQUAY-mus” (the ‘u’ should be a schwa) but Tony kind of “goomba-ized” it as “squah-MOOSE”.

In the NYT interview with Drea, she said he had trouble saying it without the two of them cracking up.

I’m paraphrasing here:

Christopher: “Don’t you listen to the president? We’re gonna mop the floor with the entire world. After that, we’re gonna be running everything.”

That’s what I took from that - Paulie was both placating Tony and insulting Chris - don’t forget that Paulie and Chris just about killed each other only a few weeks ago.

I have to say, I thought this was probably the best episode since <i>Pine Barrens</i>. The Tony/Ade near-kiss towards the beginning was unbelievably creepy and yet riveting.

I find myself wondering if Tony B. might have been flipped by the FBI while in prison.
