Breaking glass
Rolling thunder
Actually I have a favorite chain of sounds:
Ever see Children of the Corn? The first one. Not those other shit sequels.
Well, that woman is driving down that road, and she hits the kid standing in the middle of the street.
Just before impact you hear(in this order):
1)Her scream.
2)The fake-ass “hitting the brakes really quickly” sound.
3)A thud/fart/squishing noise, on impact.
4)The sound of the body rolling fifty feet on pavement.
5)And her finishing up the chain, with her moans, because she had an orgasm right after the body stopped rolling.
If you have not seen that movie, go watch it. You will laugh your ass off.
Aaaaaaaaaah, yes.
Even more so: the sound of 43 such engines after the call of “gentlemen, start your engines.”
Almost anything spoken in a Southern accent. Even the shit-eatin’ kind of Southern accent that’s so thick it could be spread with a butterknife and sounds fake. It’s all good.
Country/bluegrass fiddle.
The sound of a REALLY good, hard tackle in football.
“1st DOOOOOWWWWWWNNNNNNNNN”
The sound of my BF breathing when he is asleep.
A Liverpudlian accent
My dad’s 65 Turbo-Charged Corvair
My dad’s Harley-Davidson
The roar of my chopped Triumph singing through a beat up set of drag pipes.
The “wop, wop” of a UH-1 Huey’s rotor blades in a steep banking turn
That beautiful sound made by a Ducati 996 wide ass open screaming out that wonderful song.
Later…
Apparently I’m the first to be honest and say I love hearing gruntingly Oh, shit yeah, like that". hehe
The drone of my 600-hp Cat when I hit 13th gear. For that matter, the sound of my Jakes while decending a mountain. The scenery helps.
“The Lombardi Trophy is going home!”
“And in entertainment news, the Bee-Gees have disbanded”
A good marimba solo.
Drums.
Irish flute music
quietgirl’s breathing
walking through leaves
The first chord of “Désenchantée” or “99 Luftballons” when played without warning at my fave gay club.
The telephone ringing after half an hour of waiting for it to.
Zazou purring.
Falling to sleep to the sound of Yosemite Falls roaring. (You can hear it when you stay at Yosemite Lodge.)
Purring cats.
My mother’s piano playing and singing.
Arggh. It should be either “going to sleep” or “falling asleep”.
Sigh.
A cat purring
Rachmaninoff
Anything in French or Italian
“I love you, too.”
Birds singing, before dawn

The strange silence during a total solar eclipse
Doctor: “The test was negative.”
Regis: “You just won a million dollars!”

Okay, not very creative, I know. It’s too early in the uh… 12:49pm of the day.
