Sour Pickles

About every other month I shop at the Dutch Country Farmer’s Market near me. (In other words, it’s run by Amish people or at least people who dress like they’re Amish.) Each time I get some of the pickles (pickle slices, not gherkins) they sell. They sell a whole lot of different flavors of them. I don’t know how many flavors - sixteen, eighteen? Some are sour, some are sweet, some have flavors you’d never expect. I just googled “Amish markets near Boston” and found there’s a bunch of them.

They also sell pickled okra which I get often.

Looking online, it seems some of those “sour” individual pickle-in-a-bag are not what I would call sours (they are made with vinegar. The one I’m looking at is specifically Van Holten’s, which I see one reviewer on Amazon complains about not being deli sours.) So it sounds like you’re not looking for specifically a Jewish deli/NYC style sour, but any very sour/zesty pickle. That may broaden the search a bit.
