South Park 11/14 "The List"

I must say, this definitely out-did Guitar Queer-o. Very interesting plot, what with Abe Lincoln and all. Also, what a creative way for Kenny to go!

The plot reminded me of a movie, but I couldn’t place it… I suppose any generic conspiracy movie would fit the role.

All in all, season 11 has been fabulous. From Jesse Jackson to Clyde thinking he’s the cutest, this has been a great South Park run. Hopefully season 12 will bring more of the same!

Good episode. I loved Kyle telling Abraham Lincoln telling him to take him home - and Lincoln driving him! I liked seeing Stan and Wendy getting back together, too. And Stan puking all over her just like old times. I was a bit concerted by Wendy’s voice, though. I know, different voice actor, but I’m used to the way the late Mary Kay Bergman did her voice.

I didn’t even notice.

I only starting watching after the second half of the episode, and never saw Kenny. What happened to him?

If anyone else is like me and living in a country that is countless seasons behind, you can download the eps on by torrent from this site
(currently downloading the latest ep right now, cant wait to see it.)

Wendy’s voice as done in the early seasons by Mary Kay Bergman was a lot higher pitched and very squeaky. Since Mary Kay’s death, Wendy has been voiced by three other actresses: Mona Marshall, Eliza Schneider, and April Stewart, her current voice. In last night’s episode, Wendy’s voice had lost that squeaky quality.

Big laugh when Kenny died at the kitchen table, then the toaster popped up some Poptarts - like the ones poor people eat every noght for dinner.

Along with their cut up hot dogs

It was a fun episode. I liked the two gags brought back. Kenny getting killed and Stan’s vomiting when he is nearly ready to kiss Wendy.

I was also wondering what movies they were parodying, I could not place them.

I know you’re relatively new to the boards, tonedef, so you’ll want to make sure you’re familiar with our Registration Agreement. Specifically, in this case, the following paragraph:

Providing links to sites that traffic in illegal distribution of television shows is prohibited, so I’ve removed your link.

As an aside, aren’t the creators of South Park okay with distribution of their episodes over the Internets?

I think I’ve heard that as well. The rights to the episodes are probably actual owned by Comedy Central, though.

The bottom line here is that we (the Moderators) don’t have the time or resources to spend tracking down which sites are OK with downloads and which aren’t. It’s up to the person doing the posting to prove to us – preferably, before posting-- that what they’re linking to is legit, acceptable to the copyright holders, etc.

Basically, it’s a situation where we assume such links are NOT acceptable, unless the person posting proves to us (in advance) that they’re OK.

I loved all the “if it pleases and sparkles” and “that does not sparkle!”

Sunshine!

I guess that didn’t sparkle with her. Great Episode!

I think it was just a general “conspiracy movie” parody and not any specific film. BTW, did anyone else notice that Lincoln was driving a Honda? While I can see them not putting old Abe in a Lincoln (or a Ford, for that matter), I wonder why they chose a Honda for him?

The Pop Tarts shooting up out of the toaster after Kenny went facedown in his cereal was a nice touch.

I like how south park acknowledges that not all characters are privy to all the whackiness.

When Kyle says “Abe Lincoln was right” Cartman asks “Abe Lincoln?” - makes me chuckle anyway, and it’s a send up of bad writing in other shows don’t react to an odd thing because the audience, rather than that character, understand.

I noticed it was a Honda, but didn’t think to put him in a Lincoln, for some reason.

Also, I too enjoyed the “sparkles” and "sunshine"s of the council.

The movie was “300” according to what I saw on the Wikipedia article last night, but this information has since been deleted for some reason.

As an aside, do Parker and Stone themselves post their own synapses of all the South Park episodes? No way an average fan could have this information ready to post so quickly.

As for Kenny’s death (from the same aforementioned link):

Bebe’s stray bullet flies through the window of Kenny’s kitchen and blows out the back of his head as he sits at dinner, to the great shock of his family, who are eating Pop-Tarts. This is Kenny’s first actual death in the show since “Best Friends Forever”, which happened two seasons prior.
