Spackling the Crack of Dawn- An Early MMP

Thanks. One of the reasons I left proposal work in January 2020 was to have more free time and more control over my schedule, so I could focus more on singing…but COVID had other ideas. Now that live music is back, I’m deeply relieved/honored to discover that I won’t have to start from scratch in that regard.

I’ve just finished some blackened barramundi, using a Cajun rub recipe I got from a former Doper’s ex-husband. I cooked it outside on the side burner of the BBQ grill, in a cast-iron frying pan. Goo liked it, though I made sure not to give her (much) of the rub. Mrs. L.A. liked it too, but was full from a big breakfast, a Spring roll, and a blueberry muffin. *sigh* I had to eat the rest.

So I was at an urban trail walking, and I ended up behind a young Caucasian couple. The dude was shirtless, exposing tattoos on the back of his arm. Curious, I took a look, and while I’m not 100% certain (the tattoo was in graffiti font), I’m pretty sure the tattoo running down the back of his left forearm was the word “WHITE.”

My question is, what are the odds that he did NOT have a tattoo running down the back of his right forearm of a five-letter word beginning with “P”?

Happy dopeversary! :musical_notes::musical_note::tada::confetti_ball::bottle_with_popping_cork::clinking_glasses::confetti_ball::tada::musical_notes::musical_note:

Anna is solving high crimes in Yosemite National Park~it’s a good one! I’ve read it at least twice~I felt like I’d spent a glorious vacation out west. Highly recommend.

Please indulge a worried mom. You know how irrational we can be.

My kids call me every Sunday. On rare occasions, my son misses on Sunday, usually because it’s a bad migraine day, but then he almost always calls the next day. He’s missed entirely only two or three times the past 20+ years. He didn’t call last Sunday. No call Monday. I wasn’t worriedm but then he missed today’s call, too, a first. I tried calling him. No answer, and it switched to VM. His sister hasn’t heard from him, either.

If something had happened to him, his wife would’ve let me know. So now I’m worried something happened to both of them. It seems improbable, but then, so does him not missing two Sundays in a row.

I don’t think I’ll be sleeping much tonight.

Sounds like you should call local law enforcement and ask for a welfare check.

I’m sorry, but that “stripped screw” problem, while dealing with a dead guy, just somehow cracks me up.
I have a dark sense of humor.

I also have a question.

Swampy is Verger pronounced to rhyme with “burger” or is it more like “vehr- jer” I need to know how to mentally pronounce your duties!

(… and you are correct. Tom is okay with the delay.)

Sorry, luv, I missed this while I was typing. Concur with Johnny that a welfare check is a reasonable last resort, if you have no other local contacts.

… but I’d be pissed, if someone DID have access to, say, a friend via Facebook or something but called the cops instead.

Do you have any other contacts who can knock on their door and say “hello” real quick?

Whew! Just got a text from son. He’s calling tomorrow. I’ll get an explanation then (and, knowing him, s heartfelt apology).

My son is not on social media. My DIL is but is too busy to be very active. Her mom lives not too far from them, but her English isn’t too good. They don’t really know their neighbors, unless you count the racist guy next door they had to call the cops on. (He harasses them in the hope the mixed-race couple will move away.)

I’ll talk to my son tomorrow night about all this.

Thanks for the sympathetic advice.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.
