Spackling the Crack of Dawn- An Early MMP

Today was one frustration after another. I’d like my money back. Oh, wait…

Couldn’t get any info from insurance without names of optometrists. Clinic won’t give me names, and they’re not on the “Meet Our Docs” page. (Optometrist who’s been there awhile is.) I may call insurance tomorrow anyway, although dealing with insurance companies tends to leave me frustrated and upset. Wanna see my battle scars?

Talked with nephew with severe OCD. I love him, but he’s also frustrating, and not because of the OCD. How frustrating? His other aunt and uncle won’t even talk to him.

There were other frustrations, but they were boring.

BUT…the best part of a frustrating day is that it’s temporary. Tomorrow will probably be better.

red, you’re a trouper.

swampy, if you decree a word goes into the Mumper dictionary, it’s absolutely a word, ipso facto.

doggio, is this the 'Canes doing all this repugnant stuff? Shame on whoever it is. I can’t imagine they won’t face backlash.

You’re right~I finally got wise and looked up a post bariatric surgery diet plan. University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Complicated, I think there were 5 stages. How about we all stand by and cheer you on minus the recipes? Although for ideas for sheer meat protein @purplehorseshoe posts some gorgeous pictures for when you’re at the last stage and stabilized and looking for inspiration. She’s also good at cooking once and having 2 or 3 tasty meals. You can hear that steak or chop sizzle. I’d be tempted to eat grilled shrimp at least once a day I think.

That sounds perfect.

I am definitely of the “I might vent/whine but I’m generally not asking for fixes (unless I specifically ask for help/advice)” ilk!

Yep. And the fans are up in arms(me included)

Evening all. Spent most of the day catching up on soccer (and my You Tube Channels), then went to a soccer Board meeting from 6-8pm, this missing the rain showers that occurred while it was going on. Just finished the Mac-n-Cheese dinner and still have a couple things to get done soccer-wise (I agreed to manage the 7U Boys division, which is now up to 80 players and still growing). At least it gave me the excuse not to move the bed and change the lightbulbs…maybe tomorrow…

Tired and while I have read all I just don’t have the gumption to respond. So everyone have a good night and we’ll see if Hump Day works out better.

That’s because I’m an unrepentant carnivore. P.M. me for my Facebook, I’m happy to add ya as a friend.

… the pics look nice because everything looks best photographed as close as possible, and food doesn’t flinch or handwave you away “because my hair is weird” or some such nonsense.

Red I’m glad your sister will be at the family reunion. I hope the work situation improves, one way or another.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave.

Watered, pilled, off to read, perchance to dream.

And it’s Wednesday!

And it’s raining (a different type of being watered).

Was thinking of doing some stuff in the garden, but it’s wet, which isn’t good for the tools. Might pull some weeds later, but probably no pruning.

Thinking of purging some clothes. I have way too many clothes and should try to reduce the quantity, also so I can find things.

Probably should get rid of some shoes as well. Fewer things means fewer things to clean. Might convince hubby to reduce his t-shirt collection as well.

Hugs to Taters and head pats for Polar.

Seems there will be a hunk of Italian beef in my near future. It was brought north by a colleague. Just have to figure out calendars. And sides.

One of the local bakeries is offering a Red Devil (Roter Teufel) bread. Probably full of food coloring, but I still want to try it.

I probably should have mentioned that I use small, taco-size tortillas, so one slice of cheese works. No way one slice in the big ones would satisfy.

And count me among those who thought you were a “he” - no clue why I would have come to that conclusion. No matter, 'cause now I know!

Good luck with that. My spousal unit wears the same dozen shirts over and over, despite owning 3 times that many. Then there are the jeans and khakis he’ll never fit into again that clog his closet… We’re a reversal of stereotypes when it comes to clothes.

I picked a huge zucchini from the garden yesterday - no clue how I missed it till FCD told me it was there. So part of today’s plan is to make some zucchini bread. He doesn’t really like zukes as a side and it’s my understanding that the smaller ones are better for that anyway. So I’ll shred this beast and see how it goes. Near as I can tell, it’s going to be similar to 'nanner bread in texture - no yeast involved.

And at 5:30 tonight, I’ll be at the Port of Leonardtown WInery for a pottery class. Along with instruction, we get a glass of wine, but since I’ll be driving, I’ll pass. They also offered a charcuterie tray, but how does one eat when playing in clay? Anyway, I didn’t want that either. I’m there to learn something new. So we shall see.

Slept with Mel last night so it was mostly good sleep. I don’t recall any weird dreams and I didn’t drag out of bed till after 6. I’ve already loaded and run the dishwasher - should have done it last night - oh well, it’s done now. And so it begins.

Happy Wednesday!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and cloudy (TWPTB say it’s mostly N.O.S.!) with a predicted high of 92 and a 64% chance of rain/tstorms/apocalypse this afternoon/evenin’. We shall lay in provisions and I must needs go to da Burg to renew my car tag. Mowage needs to be accomplished but we shall have to see. It rained most of last night so da yahd needs to dry out. Maybe all that will happen before the rain starts again. Oh and I shall attend to some church janitor Junior Warden duties over to the church house. Sup shall be boxed lasagna (don’t judge!), sallit and cheesey garlic bread.

MOOOOOOM A charcuterie tray is an adult Lunchable that costs a lot more. Give it a fancy name and suddenly it’s all gourmet!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and bother, I must purtify and don appropriate bein’ about the public attire. Woe!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

This one is a $10 option. There’s another place in L’town offering vegan charcuterie trays - that terrifies me for some reason… :open_mouth:

OK, dishwasher is done. Sprinkler is watering my veggies. I need a shower and to don something other than robe and slippers. Guess my day must begin. Dammit. :stuck_out_tongue:

Morning all. Up about 6am and have rescued the newspaper from the front yard. It’s 72F right now, but supposed to reach 96F today, so another good day to stay inside. Of course, tomorrow it is going to 97F… Do need to get out to the AT&T store, one of my Direct TV (they own it) remotes is malfunctioning, so I need to see if they can replace it, or if I need to contact someone else.

FCM, enjoy the class.

Used to have a button on my wall that read “I didn’t claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables”

Ooopsie, hope surgery (and post-surgery dining) go well.

nellie, good luck with the insurance company. Maybe you’ll luck out and get the one competent employee they have…

red, glad the new job is working out. And yeah for sis making the reunion.

Sari, hope Echo has a nice party today.

Sunny, hope the tax issue works itself out. Mine is due in September.

OK, need to check out the news and the Sudoku puzzles, so all y’all have a good Hump Day.

I’m picturing a bunch of cucumber slices.

If you don’t post that on FB, I’m going to steal it.

Happy Hump Day!

It’s hot outside.

Brats are at daycare, cake and Ripple’s bath have been paid for.
I timed the drop off right and we were the only ones there., so I figured pay then so I don’t have to when there are other dogs and people around.

I’m trying to get motivated to take the truck to the shop. I hate driving to Frederick. I hate driving on 70.
I should get cleaned up before I go, but then I think, wth? It’s an auto shop. How clean do I need to be?

My son baked cookies for the neighbors last night. A combo thank you for driving me to irk/sorry you’re moving. My niece gave him a baking cook book for Christmas last year and he has really gotten into baking cookies. She gave him a whole lot of baking stuff for his birthday, but now that he is irking he isn’t baking as much as he used to.
Life was a lot better when he wasn’t irking.

Good morning, all! I went to bed early last night but woke up a few hours later with an ouchy migraine. I woke up for good at 5. Now I’m lazing and watching the sunlight change shades. Maybe I’ll walk errands and get to the gym early.

Both air quality monitoring sites I check claim AQI is just fine, but my eyes are reporting that the sky is not quite the right color and the air is a little more visible than one would expect.

Today I figured it out. Gadzooks should actually be spelled Gadzukes, because it originated with a backyard gardener who realized how prolific zucchini plants are!

I only have 2 and already I’ve got too many zukes, altho the biggest one has been shredded and combined into zucchini/oat/crasin/pecan bread. I kinda invented it based on another recipe. If it’s any good, I’ll share the recipe with anyone who’s interested.

As the loaves bake, I’m taking a break and I’m about to nuke lunch. Then I’ll empty the dishwasher and reload it with the baking dishes, for there are many. Baking in the summer is kinda dumb - it makes the a/c work harder - but the zukes won’t last till fall and I doubt they’d freeze well.

That’s been my morning.
