I really need to stay out of animal shelters.
A friend called today and asked me to go to the humane society to get her mom a kitten for her birthday . Wheile she was looking at kittens , a beautiful long haired calico caught my eye. My friend got an adorable long haired black kitty for her mom , and I casually asked the gal at the counter , whom I know from dogs, about the cat , named Chloe. She had been in the shelter for over 6 weeks already and was scheduled to be euthanized next week. Her sister already had been.
I asked how she was with dogs , they didn’t know but told me to bring one of my dogs in and see , so home I went and brought Kharma back. I figured if she can tolerate Kharma , she can tolerate anything. Kharma nizzled and kissed all over her , and there was no reaction , no hissing , no slapping , Chloe just … sat there . Then they said they would lower her price from $75 to $50 if I would take her.
