Spider-Man: Brand New Day {Open Spoilers after post #50}

I think I missed something in Spidey’s convo with the Widow in the spa (I loved that scene, BTW). How did the Avengers know about V-Max. Did they intercept Sarah’s psychic blast?

As I recall it, Jean asked Peter about it when she was messing with him and Peter then asked Widow to look into it as well as asking the Damage Control bad guy about it.

I think the Widow told Peter that there had been a hacking attempt into the DC computers looking for something called “V-Max”.

Thanks. I thought I miss-remembered Jean asking Spidey how he knew about V-Max.

Nitpick: the Double Negative Police are here and they suggest that you meant you would be zero percent shocked if that was a plot point in later MCU films.

Yeah, I thought of V-Ger too! Futuretech autocomplete just became mysteriously inadequate eh

You’re probably right.

Narc!

Anybody else bothered that Peter doesn’t seem too concerned about Banner being carted off to the loony bin.

“Loony bin”? I thought he was being hospitalized for injuries inflicted by the Hulk’s plummet to near-death?

(But then, I’m pretty Marvel-clueless and had no clue who Frank and Scorpion and Jane were, I thought I was doing pretty well to remember that Dr Banner was the Hulk.)

Nope, as we see Banner being carted the newsperson was saying something about a “neuropsychiatric clinic”.
I don’t remember Peter having much time to be concerned about anything before the movie ends, or perhaps he has, but offscreen.

I’m almost certain the news reporter said he was being treated for a mental breakdown.

Secret handshakes have priority.

Yep, @Frodo and you evidently remembered that more clearly than I did. I just assumed that Banner must have taken some physical damage after all that.

I understand your point now, (I had forgotten about the secret handshake thing).
But we don’t know what happened offscreen before that scene, may be Peter has been to see Banner several times and we just didn’t see it.

I suspect the next time we see Banner, he will still be locked up until the Avengers decide they need him. Then they can do a whole jail break scene.

After going Full Hulk, Banner could probably use some time off and therapy.

When he fully transforms, Parker says “I didn’t know you could get that big!”. This reminded me of Hulk not being in Civil War and the meta-reason being “Because whichever side has Hulk would just win”. After that, Spider-Man is Thanos-poofed during Infinity War and doesn’t come back until the end of Endgame so I guess he really doesn’t have much Hulk experience.

It is a pretty standard trope. The teen-twenties girl can date a 200-year-old vampire or fairy or alien as long as he looks like a teen-twenties boy no problem. But if she dated a 50-year-old that looks like a 50-year-old, big icky. When Jean Gray was involved with Logan she was in her 20s and he was somewhere around 150.

I’m thinking we’re going to get Magneto and the rest of the Brotherhood coming after the man who invented the Mutant Inhibitor Chip. And well, they kinda have a point.

Gonna see it this coming weekend.
