Alright, Skeezix, I’ll oblige. Though I’ve already seen it personally, and count myself a fan, in spite of what I remember as a somewhat incoherent ending. Let’s hear your thesis…
In fact, I generally think of Prince of Darkness as part of a set along with They Live and Big Trouble in Little China in as much as they were released pretty close together, and I consider them the three all-around best John Carpenter movies (in ascending order).
That’ll probably offend a lot of fans of The Thing out there. I rate that pretty highly as a really gripping horror film, but Carpenter’s later troika appeal to me more all around for their clever and elaborate plots, and sense of humor, alongside the action and suspense.
