Okay, Tom won – so I assume he dumped Ian going into the fnal two. Who did he take with him and what was the final vote? And were there any good Sue-style speeches during the final vote?
twicks, who taped all three hours but isn’t really interested in watching it.
Tom took Katie with him. The final vote was 6-1 with Coby (I think) voting for Katie.
I didn’t watch ( or tape) the first hour and had the sound off during the second hour. The interesting thing was that Tom and Ian spent almost 12 hours on buoys in the final immunity challenge before Ian suddenly decided to take himself out.
Unrelated- I didn’t realize until last night how tall Ian is. (I’m not planning to post in the other survivor thread, so it shows up here.)
Tom & Katie both called Ian on his lying to them in the last few episodes, so he took himself out of the final endurance challenge to buy back their respect. It seems to have worked.
Coby adopted his cousin’s baby and named her Janu.
Greg & Jenn are still kinda seeing each other, as are Jeff & whatsername from Ulong.
I thought so too – everybody cleaned up attractive, even Willard (Obligitory Old Guy). Caryn, I thought, was really lovely with her hair done and makeup on. Yolanda too. Big exception – Wanda. Poor thing.
Thanks all. I did catch the last 15 minutes of the reunion show – I thought Stephanie (sp.) looked bizarre with her hair all curled like that. She should have brushed it to make it look a little more … normal.
Ian really wilted down the stretch. A strong player all game, in the last few days he self-destructed. His plans to eliminate Tom were sensible, but he never should have discussed his strategy until after he had won immunity (which he never did, BTW). He set himself up to get called on his strategy and that is just what happened. Compound that with his inability to be sneaky and devious plus numerous verbal gaffes, he really fell apart.
The “win back respect” concession was a crock. After talking smack at the beginning of the final immunity challenge, he realized 12 hours in that there was no way he was going to beat Tom, and came up with a lame excuse that would allow him to save face.
Up until the last few weeks I thought Ian was a great guy. Now I have the feeling he can’t be trusted or relied on when the pressure is on.
Excellent series, but the final tribal council was the biggest non-event in Survivor history. It would have been a shutout if Coby hadn’t needed to let out his drama queen.
Except Tom had offered to take Ian to the final two if he stepped down voluntarily. Tom said he’d take Katie if he won though endurance, but he’d take Ian if he quit. So Ian had a free ticket to the end if he’d chosen to take it, but he decided their respect was worth more than a million - or even a hundred thousand - dollars.
That nice, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb boy.
Well the jury would get word of it, and a deal’s a deal in most of Survivor. Going back on your word has to either be brilliant or necessary to a pre-existing deal - for the jury to give it an okay. Had Ian taken the deal then Tom would have had to have followed through for any hope of winning the million in the final 2.
I’m still with mixed feelings on the season, so I don’t know how I feel about Tom winning.
